Week Fifteen: Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts

Location: RCA Dome  Indianapolis, IN

Kick-off time: 8:30 pm EST

Broadcast: ESPN

Key injuries: Pretty much every player on the Colts defense.

Seriously, it is doubtful Bethea or Jackson will play. The NFL Now radio show stated Bob Sanders might play, but no way to confirm that. Dallas Clark is officially out, as far as I know. Be sure to check out Kirkendall at his Bengal blog Cincy Jungle. Kirkendall's got a funny MNF drinking game posted. Enjoy.

It's Monday Night folks! I want some real Colts football!

you count
Next year the South rules... at LEAST three get in the playoffs.  None of this "the west is the best division" crap.

true that
Nice to see the South get the attention it deserves...

But we know that somehow the usual suspects will get the media light.  The Pats, Cowboys, etc...

They don't respect...
Indy had to have great teams to win this division...

Tennessee and Jacksonville have always been hard, but damn if they didn't build on something great for next year.

Houston has talent, so from year to year how can you predict how they are?

They will fear us next year...

Please God...
Smite Theisman and Kornheiser now... thus I can enjoy the game without their endless stupid talk?

Bless Thee!

Cato June
It's now pretty well set in my mind: Cato stinks. I don't know what his problem is. I don't care. He is simply gettng his butt handed to him. Missed tackles. Lack of effort. Everything. He stinks.

I'm actually glad the Colts did not give this guy a big contract. He's a free agent after the season, and he should not come back.

Horrible, HORRIBLE linebacker play.

He had the guy WRAPED UP and he got loose...

And WTF is with special teams fucking up half the time?

I hate Kornheiser..
I hate Theisman too... just not as much.

It's on plays like that
Whenever I hear blowhards like Kornheiser try and blame the offense for the recent struggles of the Colts, point to the last Colts TD drive. The Colts offense has had the ball for what... 4 or 5 total possessions in the first half.

That's nuts.

Yet, they put up 17 points by halftime.

The finger for the recent slide points squarely at special teams and defense, and BOTH have not played well tonight thus far. Rudi Johnson's TD run was a joke of an effort, and Wilkins' muffed punt should indeed cost him his job. No excuse for that kind of play in this kind of the game in that kind of situation.

AGREE!
I have fond memories of Wilkin's past... but muffing a punt when needed???

Rush defense
In the first half, they have surrendered 90 rushing yards on only 17 carries. Pitiful. Yes, they are stopping the big runs, but they are still giving up 5.2 a rush. Cincy will continue to pound and pound and pound until they break one, and the Colts defense is shaky.

BLITZ the run!

I had to listen to 1190 WOWO, local AM station that broadcasts the colts, and also my Hoosiers. They did a good job, unlike Wilkins.

That is a fucking lie TONY!

Ignorance is his excuse
He had no IDEA that we've won 4 division tittles in a row. It's his first time in the RCA dome(probably) so he's not accustomed to the atmosphere. He's from NY, we all know that people from NY think that anything outside of NY doesn't matter. He knows nothing about the MW.

Wow...
And all those professional football guys predicted that the Colts would lose...
Go Colts!

by Marked Hoosier on Dec 18, 2006 11:33 PM EST reply actions

Those guys live, week to week
They're always judging teams by their performance the week before. Bengals looked good against Ravens. We looked "not so good" against the spotted kitties.

They know nothing about our team. We, the fans, do.

We know that there's more play in them than what they showed the past couple of weeks, especially last week.

I, specifically last year, remember hearing
From Marvin Lewis, that the Bengals have been built to beat the Colts. Well, it's a year later, and the score goes like this: Colts 2 Bengals 0.

if you can carry that over threw the next couple of games into the playoffs, you just might be able to challenge SD.

I, personally, appreciate you kind words
Your boy, Michael Irvin, knew what he was talking about.

I am proud of our D, they took sh*t the last 8 days, and they stepped up, even short handed.

"GO HORSE!"

by beester on Dec 18, 2006 11:55 PM EST up reply actions

So, a complete game ... almost
If it weren't for Dungy letting Manning go for it on 4th and 1, this would be our "complete" game. Dungy's gotta get those sketchy calls out of his playbook.

by PaytonMenning on Dec 18, 2006 11:51 PM EST reply actions

4th & 1
I don't really have any problem with that 4th and 1 call. They had a good chance to make it, they were on something like the Bengals 40, and our special teams can be a little flakey at times.

by Masson on Dec 19, 2006 12:18 AM EST up reply actions

Yeah, but
These are the sketchy calls that have hurt us in the past. Luckily, it didn't make much difference tonight. Only that call, and the Wilkins fumble were between us and our "complete game".

by PaytonMenning on Dec 19, 2006 12:25 AM EST up reply actions

To be honest
When we didn't make it, the first thought I had was that it didn't make a difference because our defense probably would've let them have that field position in about 2 plays regardless of where the punt landed.

But our defense played pretty well tonight, so that's probably unfair.
