Despicable Bears' Fan

I've just seen a photo of a Bears' fan holding a large sign saying:

BEARS FINISHING WHAT KATRINA STARTED

As an ex-Chicagoan, ex-New Orleanian and longtime Saints fan, I'm disgusted by this new low.  You can be sure that everyone seeing this POS will become ardent Colts fans, too. What the hell are guys like this so proud about? It's been 21 years in the outhouse for these SOBs.  Hope you guys can finish what the Chicago Fire started...

GEAUX COLTS!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

My God!
One moron and every Chicago fan is a jerkoff?  C'mon!  You are rooting against the Bears cause of that one sign.  I think you should root against the Colts cause some of their fans are members of the KKK.  Yes, Indiana is the home of the KKK.  Don't you know one bad apple always spoils the bunch?

Its been 21 years in the outhouse for us.  ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME SAINTS FAN!  Three trips to the playoffs in your existence and your calling out the Bears?  Since we won the super bowl we have made the playoffs 10 times.  That includes two wins over your pathetic and soon to be not in New Orleans Saints. You are the worst franchise in sports history.  Now shut up.

Oh, come on...
Did you see anyone in the Colts crowd celebrating our racist past?

Chicago fans are CLASSLESS!!! This is one of the reasons why I can't stand Chicago fans.

You think you're a big city crowd, but you're not! You are a big suburb. That is it. The only part of chicago which I can respect is the South side. The north side of Chicago is full of big town wannabes, who are from small towns all over midwest. Guess what they do after they grow a brain... Move back to the small town which they came from!!! And the cycle continues.

Past?
Dude, the State of Indiana is the current HOME of the Ku Klux Klan.  Jewish kids are told not to speed on their way down to school cause you if you get pulled over in southern indiana with a name like Greenberg or Schwartz, well, good luck.

And I'm not saying that Colts fans are all racists.  In fact probable the vast majority aren't.  I'm saying that I will bet you a few are Klan members.  But we should judge the entire fan base on that.

Martinsville
Is the city about which you are talking. I am scared to get pulled over through that 3 stop light town. I am neither black, catholic, nor jewish. I am sure that you can find some hole in Illinois that is the same way.

In Indiana, we are represented with a black head coach for our beloved Colts and our (20 miles away from Martinsville) IU basketball team.

Yes, the State of Indiana has a racist past, and maybe a hidden racist present, but we love our our Colts. And, I'm sure that anyone can find a hidden racist present in anyother State.

Oy!
You are missing my point!

I am saying that I DON'T judge Colts fans based on a very small minority of your fans.

Right
But, saintsfan should be offended by the sign. I would have been. The bitterness of the loss doens't help either.

OK Fine.
I was offended too.  But that is not a reason to root for the Colts.  Root for the Colts if you like Peyton Manning.  Root for the Colts cause of Marvin Harrison.  Root for the Colts cause of Dwight Freeny.  Hell, root for the Colts cause they have a guy who willingly goes by the name Booger.  But don't root for the Colts cause some jerkoff made a jerkoff sign.

hmm...
I had planned on jumping in over here eventually anyways cause of the game, but when I saw this I decided to jump in early. That and I wanted to comment on this at deadspin but they wouldn't let me register.

Every fan base has their idiots. Ours managed to get their picture taken. As a Cubs fan going to other parks, I've had issues with fans at Miller Park, Busch Stadium, and Comiskey Park. It's unfortunate, because I know fans of all three of those teams. I know that a vast majority of their fans are knowledgeable people who simply care about their team.

Was the sign awful? Yes. Does that mean that all of Chicago sports fans are dispicable, rotten, hatefilled drunks? No. A majority of our fans are knowleadable people who care about their teams.

to paraphrase what Chad said above: root for the colts because you like the colts, not because some idiots made a insensitive sign.

as a sidenote: Beester- I obviously don't know you or anything about you for that matter. For all I know you lived in Chicago for 30 years. That being said, your description of Chicago seems a little off to me.

Not like the Saints fans
were the epitome of class... Seems kinda hypocritical of them to be "outraged" at some distasteful signs from Bear fans. No Bears fan I saw had signs and shirts and with the F word on TV like the Saints fans...

So, "geaux" cry me a river...

Chicago Bear's impending defeat.
After watching the Bears play the Seahawks during the regular season (minus Sean Alexander) then again in the divisional playoff game, and the NFC championship versus the Saint, I found some significant weaknesses in Chicago's armor. #1. In all three of these games, "Chicago did not score in the third quarter!" The majority of touchdowns that the offense scored was made possible by the defense "stripping the ball loose" setting up a "short playfield" In back to back games against the Seahawks, and Saints(respectively) the Bears'offense only made two legitimate scoring drives against Seattle and three against New Orleans.   The result was two touch downs against the Seahawks, and three field goals against the Saints. If Chicago's defense can't make no turn overs, they "will not win" period. That is the pattern that they show every week. Grossman is effective as long as he passes on every down. He is vulnerable when Chicago is in second or third and long
Every time the Chicago defense forced a turnover,( by stripping  the ball from the opposing offense),it energized their offense knowing that they had a "short distance to the "Red Zone" Force Chicago to move their offense from their "own twenty yard line" and they will not achieve no more that three first downs before they have to punt against a formidable defense.  I give Chicago's Defense and Kick Off Return Teams credit due to their outstanding performance.  To beat Chicago's special teams when kicking off to them( I've seen this happen over and over to Seattle and New Orleans)is not them to take advantage of the team's "emotional lift" after scoring a touchdown.   The majority of the time these kick off and cover teams are so pumped up,that they fail to use their mental discipline and execute their assignments. Above all, that "wedge"( wall of blockers)must be obliterated with one to two players on a "kamakazi" mission. This will cut off some of "Hester's running lanes.
"Go Indianapolis Colts." All the Colts have to do is play their game, and protect the football against the Bears' defense to win.
