Cheap ripoff
from the Ravens fans saying it stands for Count On Losing This Sunday. Your insult is unoriginal and weak.

wow
That's dissapointing. At least Chad is somewhat clever. Guy must be White Sox fan. They seem turning team names into acronyms. Completely Useless By September has been a staple of theirs for a long time.

actually
you are pretty amusing. It's not my style, but that's not the point. That line up top is the type of thing I'd expect from a little kid.

We have been...
"TERRYRIZED" by a Bears fan.

Although terry opinion are out of touch with reality, at least he has his "helmet wearing" opinions.

how bout this reality beester
Rex Grossman has a higher qb rating in the playoffs than your boy Manning, not an opinion, just a fact.

by Terry on Jan 26, 2007 2:53 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You might have to get a bigger helmet
It might just be a little tight, Cutting off your reasoning skills.

Marino, Aikman, Montana, Moon, Kelly, Esiason, Fahvrae, and Elway, are the only QBs with whom you are allowed to campare 18 and Brady.

Oh, by the way, thanks for all of you postings. When I get on this site, your name is what I look for firts. I guess it is kind a learning experience to read what a cowdung fan from W.PA. has to say about my team.

Oh, and about Rex having a better QB rating. So what are you saying? Perhaps, that Peyton still hasn't won a big game?

Also, you should want the Colts to win, that way you can point out that you were a better than the SB Champ, one week.

OH
And how about Jerry Jones? Just when you think that he had learned his lesson when Jimmy left, he does the same worthless move by hiring someone new to coaching. I guess dave campo wasn't available.
"GO HORSE!"

by beester on Jan 26, 2007 4:19 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

new to coaching??
again you show your ignorance about football and the NFL. Jason Garrett is probably the brighest young coach in the league and Jones was smart enough to hire him. He'll be a great HC someday in this league. Jones is finally becoming a very good GM.

by Terry on Jan 26, 2007 4:34 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

DOES HE HAVE H.C. EXPERIENCE?
By the way, how's the view over there at the penut gallery?
"GO HORSE!"

by beester on Jan 26, 2007 6:22 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

what doesn that matter?
that doesn't make sense. Why does a newly hired HC need HC experience? Did Dungy enter the league with HC experience?

by Terry on Jan 27, 2007 7:49 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

WRONG-O
"Jones is finally becoming a very good GM."

That proves it. You really are 12 years old. Obviously you have no idea who Jerry Jones is or his history.

And Garrett isn't going to be the HC - at least not according to reports out of Dallas that they're deperately interviewing other candidates for the job.

No one wants the job, because they don't want to put up with Jones' meddling.

by PaytonMenning on Jan 28, 2007 2:04 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I know Jones
much better than you do Bozo, and have forgotten more about football than you'll ever know.

No one wants the job? that hysterical, the HC of the Cowboys is the most sought after position in all of sports. It even brough Parcells out of retirement. There isn't a football coach alive, including your boy Dungy, who wouldn't give their left arm for that honor. You're the one really showing your immaturity.

So judging your mentality, I've probably been a Cowboy fan longer than you've been alive.

by Terry on Jan 29, 2007 11:16 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah ...
that's why your top candidate is Norv Turner.

Norv Turner! Great OC, terrible HC. How many HC jobs has he been fired from?

Oh, and Garrett's best piece of his resume was backing up Aikman. Two years as an assistant!

Think of this - any HC who goes to Dallas has to deal, not only with Jerry Jones, but also with TO. TO is a team-killer, and Jones is a franchise-killer.

No thanks. That's why great HC candidates like Pete Carroll, Jim Caldwell, etc. wouldn't even look at Dallas.

by PaytonMenning on Jan 29, 2007 11:35 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Pete Carroll??
He sucked as a HC in the pros, thats why he's coaching college and will remain there, but just so you know he was very interested in the job.

Caldwell would take the job in a nanno second if Jones offered to him. He's not the brilliant offensive mind Turner is however.

by Terry on Jan 29, 2007 4:27 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Both of those guys ...
aren't the "brilliant", offensive mind you are though.

by PaytonMenning on Jan 29, 2007 11:51 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Cowboys Hc
the HC of the Cowboys is the most sought after position in all of sports --> I can think of a few jobs I would rather have. It certainly is a high profile job, but to say that it is the most sought after job in all of sports is a bit much. There are several jobs at the college and pro level in a couple sports that I would put above coaching the Dallas Cowbows.

by mikeFromWCG on Jan 29, 2007 12:36 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Care to explain that one? Or are you just going to throw out unfounded accusations?

You see, when I say the that the Indy defense sucks I have stats to back that up.  How bout you?

In terms of total defense they rank beneath both the Ravens and the Patriots.

Gee, who did the Colts beat to get to the SB?

by PaytonMenning on Jan 28, 2007 2:02 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That means nothing...
I said:

A:  The Bears defense doesn't suck.  He did.  I wanted something more than grade school accusations.  I wanted some stats, some facts.  Hell I'd take a well thought out opinion.  I got none.

B:  I accused the Colts defense of sucking and I actually have proof.  They have  the worst run defense in the NFL in, I think, ever.

"Careers are made by what you do in post season play" - Troy Aikman 1.7.07

by Chad on Jan 28, 2007 2:36 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You can't say...
You have no proof. I just cited some "proof" based on statistics for you. So, A is irrelevant.

B is also irrelevant, since we've done a fine job stopping the run in the post season. Clearly, you haven't watched any of the games, or you would see the difference the lineup changes have made.

We haven't allowed a 100-yard rusher in the postseason, or even 100-yards rushing by a whole team.

by PaytonMenning on Jan 28, 2007 9:06 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Nope...
You totally contradict yourself and you argument is full of holes.

Allow me to explain:

  1.  It was stated that the Bears' defense 'sucked'.  I asked for proof of this.  You chime in that the Bears REGULAR SEASON (I'll get to that later) defense was ranked below the Ravens and Pats.  That doesn't prove anything.  Your 'evidence' would maybe show that the Bears' D is NOT AS GOOD as the 'BEST' but by no means is that any evidence that they 'suck'.  See the difference?
  2.  I showed you evidence that the Colts D sucks.  I stated a fact showing how poor the Colts were in the REGULAR SEASON.  You then point to some POST-SEASON stats to prove your case.  That is a. irrelevant as I would cite small sample size and b. if you want look at post-season stats, I would point to us holding the #1 offense in the NFL to 14 points as great evidence that we do not, in fact, suck.
So, I ask, AGAIN, can you show me some evidence that the Bears defense 'sucks'?

Doesn't that strike anyone else a little funny?  :)

Isn't this whole site nuts?
I mean, these are grown men, playing a childs game.  They come from all over the country, many not by choice (draft) and put on a shirt.  A because of the shirt they wear some will cheer them and some will boo them.

All for a silly game.

That being said, I still hate Peyton Manning.

"Careers are made by what you do in post season play" - Troy Aikman 1.7.07

by Chad on Jan 28, 2007 11:58 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You got a point...
I guess it all can be boiled down to just a kids game.

Isn't it a great kids game?

That being said, I so hate the bears.  Hate.  Loath... fucking hate?

Let me explain why... I live in northern Indiana.  There are many bears fans around here... who hate the colts.  Like my dad, for instance, who calls them "the Dolts."  If that wasn't enough, I watch the games from tv stations out of South Bend.  So Fox shows the bears, and CBS shows the Colts.  Unless it is a out of conference game, then a colts game could be on Fox or a bears on CBS.  So when the rare instance happens that the Colts and Bears are playing at the same time, on the same channel... who does the south bend channels choose to show?  The Bears... and it is annoying as hell!!!  They even choose the 3-13 bears of a few years ago over the "playing for a playoff spot" colts.

Anyway, go ahead a hate Manning.  Our team the last few years has beat a lot of teams out there, so I can understand the hatred.  So what?  I get to cheer for a record breaking quarterback, one that is compared with HOF quarterbacks all the time.  Every Weekend.  How often does that happen in life?  So I am going to cheer for this special team while I can, because who knows when or IF it will happen again.  Go ahead and hate him... it just makes it sweeter when he and the team does great.  :)

Go Colts!

There you go!
Let's get back to our 'useless' vitriol.  We all pick our sides and go with it.  And I freaking LOVE IT!!!!!!!

So keep em coming cause I can do this all week long!!!!

Of course, next monday, you'll probably not hear from me win or lose.  If we win, I never come to rub it in.  If we lose, I don't think I want to look at a Colts site.  Sooooo this week it is on LIKE DONKEY KONG!!!!!!

Stop being a self-righteous knob.  The Colts defense has showed up EVERY defense in the postseason.  Even the top TWO in the league.  And the Bears' defense did what?  Oh right had 24 points scored on them by Seattle of all people. hahfiashfdiastdhinsatopinas

by KingRichard on Jan 30, 2007 12:48 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Do you know how football is played?
  1.  How does a defense show up another defense?  They don't play at the same time.
  2.  Nice 34 points you gave up to New England.  We gave up 19.
  3. Great you stopped the Ravens and KC!  Whoa!  Watch out for those offenses!!  Woo. KC didn't even belong in the playoffs.  The Ravens offense SUCKS!!!!  Whoa!  Jamal Lewis and his 3.6 yards per carry.  Or old man McNair and his scary 16 touchdown passes.
Oh and when we played the #1 offense in the league, we held them to 14 points.  6 coming on a fluke 88 yard play.

Please!  Impress me with something.

"Careers are made by what you do in post season play" - Troy Aikman 1.7.07

by Chad on Jan 30, 2007 1:50 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

wow, thick much?
Um...because our defense played better than every defense in the playoffs.  That's how we showed everyone up?  Use your brain.

According to your logic, by subtracting "fluke plays," New England only scored 20 points on us.  And sorry for you but New England is far better than the Saints heh.  Of course you knew that though because New England beat the Bears.

Maybe you should go read your stat sheets some more and educate yourself.  Larry Johnson is one of the best running backs in the league, and we held him to 31 yards total.  Not to mention stopping KC from making a single first down in over 2 quarters.  I don't remember the Bears doing anything remotely close to that.  Of course, you knew that though right?  How foolish of me.  Regardless of how shitty the Ravens offense is according to you, offenses are going to score.  It's quite inevitable, unless your name is Rex Grossman and you throw an interception or fumble the ball every down.  But I guess since the Colts held them to 6 it's no big deal.  Ya, let's just totally downplay the fact that the Colts held a team to only 6 points TOTAL in a PLAYOFF game.

Good calls, but not really.

by KingRichard on Jan 30, 2007 10:44 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oh jeez...
Get over it.  KC SUCKED!  They were the worst most undeserving playoff team this year.  They backed in cause everybody lost on the last day, or didn't you know that.

Its easy to stop a good running back when your qb and wr suck donkey balls.

Oh and while you are getting off on the 6 points you gave up to the crappy ass Ravens did you notice that 6 points = 2 scores and 14 points given up the the #1 offense in the league = 2 scores.  WHOA!

You've showed up nobody.

Suck is relative...
Ah, so there's the difference. I don't agree that the Bears defense sucks - I was agreeing with the point that "they are so overrated". Everyone talks about the Bears D like they are 1985 all over again. This is simply not the case.

And as for point #2, we'll show you how relevant that argument is in the SuperBowl. The Colts aren't the same team now that we have our key injury players back. Just like the Bears aren't the same team without Tommie Harris.

by PaytonMenning on Jan 29, 2007 9:27 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The Bears 85 defense was probably the best ever
So I don't think many teams can compare to that defense and you are the only one making that comparison.

One thing for sure is that the Bears defense is not overrated. I have never seen another defense by the Bears and that includes the 85 team being able to get turnovers the way this team has shown the capability. The Bears won the Arizona game because of the defensive turnovers and even when we played the Patriots this year the defense caused a turnover when the Patriots were trying to run out the clock.

by boerwinkle on Jan 30, 2007 7:46 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

ok...
But you have to remember that Arizona sucks ass and the Bears lost to New England.  So what's your point?

by KingRichard on Jan 30, 2007 10:32 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Turnovers
While Chad pointed at specific examples I'll throw this stat out there. The Bears forced 43 turnovers with 23 interceptions and 20 fumble recoveries.  That was good for best in the league. (second place was Baltimore, with 37) I'm assuming that was his point. This defense has a nose for the football, and has all year.

Is that all you got....?
Shit...I thought you'd be lightin me up with a couple days to stew over my post.   And good guess to the guy who said I was a SOX fan.  Just like the White Sox with no "superstars"(who by the way posted the most dominant play off run in modern baseball history with a record of 11-1 and 4 complete games) the Bears will win as a "Team".  Lovie hasn't coached Rex to win the superbowl he's coached his TEAM to win it.  Offense...Defense....special teams..

Sure we could argue over who's defense is better, who's QB is better....but what really counts is who's team is better.  And that will finally be determined on Sunday.

Trust me, you and the country will finally see that the best TEAM in the NFL is the BEARS!!!
