Going to my first Colts game...
So, I'm headed to Indy for my first Colts game ever... I live in Memphis, TN and have been a fan for a while now (I went to school at DePauw)...
What's the deal? Is there heavy tailgating?
What are the chants?
Where do I go for fun the night before?
Just give me a heads up so I know what I'm getting in to...
Also, bad news: I'm going with 1 other Colts fan and two Pats fans. Not my choice, but I can't complain as it's going to be an amazing experience.
Thanks,
Bryan

Here's the deal.
Chants? You mean like "Reg-gie, Reg-gie" etc? Just show up...you'll figure it out.
Any chance you can stuff the Pats fans into the trunk as you get out of the car? ;-) Naah, bring 'em in. It will be that much sweeter to rub it in their face after we beat them (the team, not the fans...we don't do that here).
I'm still trying to get a ticket, but that's not going to happen unless the Pats return some to the dome.

Go Tigers!
As far as the night before, it kinda depends on what you are looking for. If you want bars, your best bet is Broad Ripple (62nd and College Ave. - close to Butler's campus), but if you are looking for more of a club-type scene, there are more of those downtown. Personally, I would choose Broad Ripple.
I actually think the trunk idea is a good one. You know, scalping is legal in Indy. You can take their tickets, sell them at a premium to a colts fan, and pay for your entire trip.

This is nonsense
I would agree... check out Broadripple Ave on Saturday night. It's usually a lot of fun, and it has several different types of bars so I'm sure you'll find one that suits you.
I'm still trying to fathom why anyone would want to be in their seats so early. They introduce the teams about 5-7 minutes before kickoff, so I wouldn't be there any earlier than that. That just forces you to pay more for stadium beer. It doesn't take very long to get through security, so we usually leave the tailgating lot about 30 minutes before kickoff. That places us in our seats about 10 minutes early, which is perfect.
As far as what time to arrive, we usually start setting up the tailgating about 3 hours before kickoff. Since this is a 4:15 game, and its a big game, I imagine we'll be there around noon. Depends on how much fun we have in Broadripple Saturday night.
Enjoy the game, and go Colts!

Yeah, I agree
The other thing was, I agree, security usually doesn't take too long, but, for some reason, it did for me at the TB game. As a result, my normal cracker jack timing was thrown off, and I was a bit late for kickoff.

Yea...
I imagine security would be a little tighter for the New England game with all of the scalping that will be going on as well.
