Strengths of Schedule: Indy v. New England
The AFC South is looking tough these days. The playoff rankings for the AFC go something like this:
- New England
- Indianapolis
- Pittsburgh
- Oakland
- Tennessee
- Jacksonville
- Houston
- Baltimore
- Cleveland
- Kansas City
- San Diego
- Denver
- Cincinnati
- Buffalo
- Jets
- Miami
Note: AFC South teams occupy the first non-conference leader positions: numbers 5, 6, and 7.
Also note that New England's victories have come against teams #15, 14, 13, 11, and 9. (Jets, Buffalo, Cincinnati, San Diego, and Cleveland, respectively).
Meanwhile, Indy has beaten #5, #7, and #12 (Tennessee, Houston, and Denver) as well as New Orleans (#15-NFC) and Tampa Bay (#6-NFC).
I'm not knocking New England for this. They can only play the teams on their schedule and beat them. That's what they've done. But the media adulation for the Patriots seems awfully premature.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Why do you care?
I agree that there are more entries about NE than usual at the moment, but the Pats are our biggest rivals. Since WEEK 2 there has been speculation in the national media about whether NE can go undefeated. We're beginning to gear up for a showdown in a few weeks that could potentially be between 2 undefeated teams and have enormous playoff ramifications. Additionally, there's simply a lot of news surrounding the Pats these days. And so we comment on it. I even restrained myself and decided not to post about the latest allegations of a cheap shot by a Pats player (who was it this time... Vrabel? It's getting hard to keep all of these dirty players straight).
And incidentally, if you want other reading material on this site, you'll find entries about the salary cap, the Bucs, the Cowboys, Jim Harbaugh's Stanford team, and not one but two Travises (Johnson and Henry). This in addition to all the Colts updates.
Sorry if we offended your delicate sensibilities.

I come here all the time
I hardly never post here because logic is nowhere to be found and the comments here just make me laugh. I guess I was in a good mood today and felt the need to let you all know how you all sound like my 8 month old when she has a wet diaper...kinda sounds like "waaaaahhhhhh"...but you all add..."everyone loves the Patriots...but, but, but...why doesn't anyone love us....waaaahhhhhhh...where's my pacifier"?

Tried a Pats blog lately?
Not that I blame him/her. There isn't much interesting happening over there, I just checked. Tomasse has pretty much ruined a good site with his inability to cope with other opinions. What a shame, representing such a successful football franchise and all.
For your info, Colts fans sound alot like Pats fans in this one area. You think you are the best, but complain that no one respects you. That's okay, because it's you against the world. Just wait, they'll see.
Better go complain to your fellow homers about these pathetic antics, as well.
You are right...I do not post there
I simply gave facts that you were whining for no reason as the majority of writers/sites have the Colts ranked #1...where are your facts? And, by the way...it is a successful franchise...count the Lombardi trophies...or is counting that high too difficult for you.

Thanks for proving my point
Once again, you think everyone is against you, even when they say you are good. It's okay, just throw your rings in their face. That will teach them for their "obvious" disrespect.
I'm glad the Colts won the superbowl and have beaten a very good Pats team lately (don't misquote me). It feels good. You know that feeling well, don't you? Congratulations. Too bad the world is certainly against you. They must not know how to count.
Bunch of babies.
Facts?
I just don't see the need to come to a Colts blog to comment about it, honestly.
Then choose not to participate ...
