Location: Qualcomm Stadium San Diego, CA
Kick-off time: 8:30 pm ET
Key injuries: Gee, where to start? I didn't do a game preview because I have no idea who the hell is playing! Marvin practiced this week, but he has been ruled out. TJ Rushing, who has been returning punts and kicks well this year so far, was cut by the team (tip to ctnyc) so they could make room for back-up tackle Michael Toudouze. This likely means Tony Ugoh will not play... again. Can we please stop calling it a stinger, Colts? He's missed three straight games. It's not a friggin' stinger.
Add to this the fact that Dallas Clark had a concussion last week and Anthony Gonzalez is out with a broken finger, and Peyton Manning will likely have to throw passes to the one, the only, the IMMORTAL Craphonso Thorpe. Thorpe will return punts and kicks and play the slot receiver. Good grief, the Colts are friggin' hurt!
But, no excuses. Indy must give San Diego a very healthy, generous, and thorough dose of Joseph Addai and K2. Defense must stop LaDanian Tomlinson AND Michael Turner.
This is another one of those "What is this team made of" games. San Diego must win this game for their confidence and, more importantly, because they are in real danger of missing the playoffs. The Chargers have played horrible this season thus far, and there is no excuse because their talent level is insanely high. They are at home. They'll have their crowd ferocious. The Colts have to battle all this and their own injuries. Every. Game. Is. Tough.
Here's to a good, clean game with (PLEASE!) no injuries. Go Colts!
