The story that just won't die, despite the facts
So, yeah, the NFL accepted CBS's statement that they were at fault for the odd sound glitch at the Patriots v. Colts game last week; thus making Patriots owner Bob Kraft and his monkey boy son, Jonathan Kraft, look like even bigger a-holes than their head coach for claiming (without proof) that the Colts were cheaters. Yet, despite the NFL ending the story, people just don't want the rumor to die:
But WBZ Photojournalist Bryan Foley says an unidentified RCA Dome security guard told him Sunday that the Colts do enhance the crowd noise.
Foley has been shooting sports for more than a decade. He was covering the game for WBZ-TV and claims the noise in the RCA Dome was deafening when the Patriots had the ball.
"It was almost silent when the Colts had the ball," he said.
The noise was so bad he asked a security guard about it.
"I asked him, 'Do you go home at night with a headache? Because it's early in the first quarter and my head is already hurting.'"
"He said, 'I don't know if you know this, but they actually pick up the crowd noise and pump it back through the P.A. (public address system)'"

Look, I know it's hard for media whores to understand that a rumor can sometimes just be a rumor, but this is getting stupid folks. I'm still waiting for the NFL to order Bob and Jonathan Kraft to issue a written apology to Jim Irsay and the Colts fans for insulting them. It won't happen, but since his claim has been shown to be total and complete horse crap, he should be held accountable for publicly claiming another team "cheats," only to be shown up as dead wrong.
Again folks, this is what the media calls "news": Anonymous rumors spread by a friggin' cameraman who works for a Boston TV station. Pathetic.
With that, I turn it over to JakeTheSnake for this week's O Rly Moment:
"It was almost silent when the Colts had the ball," he said.

Security Guards know everything
However, a couple of things:
- Judging by the early posts on various Pats forums, a lot of people were just trying give this story legs for no other reason other than to deflect attention away from the Cheatriots and have a little fun at the Colts expense.
- The Security Guard comment probably originated from this guy being told by a buddy in 2005 that he read on the Internet that someone (a Pittsburgh writer hack who saw ABC's mics to be exact) said we were piping in crowd noise. The security guard, only being able to understand every other word (and the short ones at that), remembered just enough of the story to tell the reporter as if was fact.

...or the security guard was trying...
...or the security guard is a figment of the photog's imagination?
