ESPN shows Dungy some love

Seth Wickersham's article on the postseason awards, while mostly fellating the Patriots, gives Dungy a consideration for Coach of the year:

"WHO MIGHT WIN: Tony Dungy. Nobody has had more injuries to overcome than Dungy's Colts. Who knows exactly why so few are talking about the great job Dungy and his staff have done, but delete one lousy fourth quarter at home to New England and the Colts are headed toward home-field advantage. If the Colts have been the second-best team in the NFL all season, he ought to be second best in Coach of the Year voting."

Of course he says Belichick will win it, but it's nice to see some Dungy-love outside of Stampede Blue and 18 to 88. His lament of the lack of respect Tony is getting is especially refreshing.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Yeah...
I liked him mentioning Dungy but he seems like an idiot. He gives no reason why Belichick will win and then mentions who it historically goes to. Then int hat Dungy thing he started off talking about the injuries and how they had the one bad qtr (half a qtr) vs the Pats and implies the Colts should have won the game. How then do you go from that to saying they are the 2nd best team and have the 2nd best coach. HOW.

12-2, tons of injuries and should easily be 13-1 and most likely 14-0 and int he toughest division in the NFL...yep, Dungy is clearly the second best coach. STUPID.

Dungy should walk away with the award but he won't since the media is retarded. Oh well. I'm sure Tony would gladly take a 2nd SB ring instead.;)
