Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Back in blue

Hope everyone enjoyed the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays. It's hilarious how people perceive you. Everyone knows I blog about the Colts. So, what do they get me for X-mas?

More Colts gear than the team equipment manager.

Colts socks, Colts jackets, Colts shirts, Colts hoodies, Colts cups, and Colts hats. If they sold a Colts thong, I might have gotten it. Not that I'm complaining, because all the stuff is cool. It's just funny how people think Oh, BBS likes the Colts. He'll love this Colts __ I ordered from Colts.com.

Anyway, back to the important stuff: Repeating as Super Bowl Champions. Our own shake n bake found a great stat that should put into perspective just how excellent the 2007 has been:

Awesome little fact/stat from Football Outsiders about the Colts

Only three other Super Bowl champions had more wins the next year: 1975 Steelers, 1989 49ers and 1998 Broncos. All three repeated as champs. 2006 Superbowl Champ Colts 12-4 This year the 2007 Colts 13-2.

It's no guarantee, but it sure sounds good.

more good stuff from FO
Remember how the Colts struggled when Tony Ugoh and Ryan Diem were hurt? Bill Barnwell from FO has a piece about the correlations between injury rates and Wins/DVOA. The position where injuries are most strongly correlation with losing, O-line.
