i think maybe there is a typo in that article, because on the very next line they say they have added thorpe to the practice squad...

anybody find this anywhere else...

They did add him the day before. Then deleted him the next day.

Notice the date

It says he was added on Sep. 11, but was cut on Sep. 12.

injury

probably has to do with injuries then, the people added were a linebacker and offensive lineman... with injuries to charlie johnson and freddie, was probably just a necessity.
