Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

A moment of thanks ...

I just wanted to take a moment before this game to give thanks for the Colts great season, and great decade. In the past 10 seasons, we've  had 7 playoff trips and (so far) one Super Bowl title. It wasn't so long ago, that we had some very rough, lean years (the eighties, most of the nineties).

Think of how awesome and rare this is, to have your team contending, year in - year out. We're fortunate, and we should be proud.

Not only that...
Having a Hall of Fame QB, Hall of Fame Wide Reciever, Hall of Fame Coach... Wow.

:)

Go Colts!

Yea...
We don't really understand how lucky we are as a city to watch this team.

How many fans can go into every game over the course of 4-5 years with realistic expectations that they will win?

Christ... I pay $241 bucks per year for my season tickets.  I've seen 49 TDs, 13-0 start to a season, 2 Playoff beatdowns of the Broncos, one of the Chiefs, one of the best come from behind victories of all time in last years AFC Championship game.  It's the best investment I've ever made.

Thanks Colts!

Thanks Colts
...for being a worthy opponent.

Though, now may not be the best time to pat yourselves on the back... Indy has to earn a couple more Super Bowl victories to catch up with the other team with the Hall of Fame quarterback & coach & season.

And - don't look now but, they're about to get another SB win up on ya.

Keep the shit talking to yourself until they actually prove it.  You're like that one annoying drunk asshole at a college party making everyone do "catch-up" game because you are already plastered instead of waiting until the party actually starts before dive head first into the booze.
Go Colts!

On a side note, for some reason I was thinking too far ahead while I was typing making that post look retarded.  Regardless, you get the point.
Go Colts!

Enjoy the asterisk
assholes!

I'm thankful for having a team that has been THE best in football for the past 10 years. I'm thankful for being the fan of a team that wins the right way - without cheating, without HGH, without playing dirty. Doesn't matter how this season ends. We, as Colts fans, have experienced the best football of any team in history in the past decade.

I could be a Cleveland fan, or an Arizona fan, or heck, even a New England fan. Imagine the shame of having to live through choking away the biggest lead of AFC CG history? But no, I'm a Colts fan! and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Tell it like it is horse
Indy will be looking up at us for a while. It's like the beatles and the stones, the stones were great, but still a distant 2nd, just like the colts.

I get it...
I was kicked out of college (academic suspension) after two semesters, so I missed quite a few of those drink-filled parties. Dumb maybe, but not an asshole.

My point is - this season is not over yet, you really shouldn't celebrate a season 'til it's done with. The folks over on the Pittsburgh site are telling themselves they had a great year... you guys ought to wait for the final whistle before you do so.

You have to admit.. the satisfaction you derive from rooting for the Colts will be greatly enhanced by an additional Super Bowl trophy... yes?? Then again, should the Patriots dispatch Indy next week, the celebration may be tempered a bit. Come to think of it, maybe you SHOULD pat yourselves on the back today!!

HEY BBS-
can you ban the troll yet?  Here we have a diary trying to be thankful for the past DECADE and the troll is talking shit.

Come on.

Go Colts!

Leave the troll
Leave the troll.  We can use some comedy relief.  He will be more fun when the Pats lose, if he ever reappears.  Besides, that's what they do on the Pats pulpit.  They only want to hear what they want to hear over there.

How nice...
If the Colts beat the Patriots on Jan. 20th I will be here on Tue. the 22nd. (I believe we are taking MLK Day off). I'll be in a very deep funk and I won't feel like saying much but, I do want to see the hyberbole that will surely resonate around this site. And, that's not a put-down.

I'll personally watch your back
I'll do my best to shut down any UNNECESSARY gloating in your direction. Some gloating is to be expected, but the stuff that is over the top (I'm sure you'll get some) I'll help you shout down. :-)

The opening line of the post states in part "...to give thanks for the Colts great season". Does it not? You have to agree that the season may yet hold many reasons to give thanks.

In fact, the Colts & Patriots whole seasons' ride on an upcoming football game. My focus was on the now. We all realize the Colts have had a very successful decade of football, the record that impresses the most is the consecutive run of five, twelve-win seasons. But this year is not over yet.

There is more...
to a diary than the title.

But thanks for admitting that you didn't even bother to read the diary before commenting.

BAN THE TROLL.

Go Colts!

by Marked Hoosier on Jan 9, 2008 5:22 PM EST up reply actions

Not much more...
I did read all four sentences. Honest. The remark that caught my eye was the "great season" part.

Since you feel so strongly about it - let's all call it a great season for the Colts. Generally, when you call it a season, the season is over. I mean - you guys aren't calling the Colt's season over, are you?

by horseofadifferentcolor on Jan 10, 2008 2:42 PM EST reply actions

What pissed me off...
is that you are still trolling here.

Read this diary, that had nothing to do with the Patriots.

This was a diary of counting our blessings, for some good football years.  It was to take a step back, and try to see the big picture.  BIG PICTURE... which you obviously missed.  It isn't just this season, it is having great season after great season.  It was just a nice post to say we are blessed, and to give thanks.

BUT A DIARY THAT DIDN'T TALK ABOUT THE PATRIOTS WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU HUH?  Ya wanna know what troll behavior is?  That is it in a nutshell.

Ban the fucking troll already.

Go Colts!

I commented on the post because I beleive that the Colts & Patriots seasons are so intertwined that for each to be called a success (great), that team must win the Super Bowl.

You don't feel that way, fine. I didn't mean to ruin your day. I was trying to learn the sentiment of the entire site, not just yours.

by horseofadifferentcolor on Jan 10, 2008 5:37 PM EST up reply actions

Your trolling...
and should be banned.

Funny, when a colt posts on the Pats website, they are banned after the first comment.  You should be thankful BBS puts up with your bs.

Go Colts!

whoa whoa whoa
...easy now with the BS talk.  Sanders may get angry.
