Anyone Else?

Sick and tired of hearing these so called "experts" say that indi can do nothing against the run with Bob Sanders? Who employs these idiots? I seem to recall us winning the superbowl in a year where he didnt play for the majority. Also even though he is the FS and DPOY saying that one person is the only thing involved in stopping the rushing offense of an entire team is just stupid, running the Tampa-2 i would say every player on that field has the agility and ability to stop the run.

ESPN worst culprit... then again we know what they are like.

ESPN

I haven’t watched ESPN for two years because of these issues. SportsCenter and NFL Countdown are nothing more than tabloids on television with few bright spots in particular John Clayton and I didn’t mind Steve Young most of the time. I stick with Bill Polian because other than injury reports he pretty much tells it how it is. Even with the injury reports IMO, there’s some amount of gamesmanship when it comes to timetables etc

The Colts do suck against the run with Sanders out, it’s fairly obvious.

We Colts fans did not pay $720 million dollars in public funds to build a brand new stadium that will get opened on Sunday Night Football by Jim Friggin Sorgi.

The Run D is better with Sanders

but it’s been the lack of a nose tackle that caused the disaster in 2006 and this year’s poor start in run D. Even in the games Sanders played in the 06 regular season and this year the run D wasn’t good. Sanders isn’t special because he’s an amazing run stopper, he’s special because he can be a great run stopper while his first assignment is shutting down a deep half of the field.

The run

should never get to Bob. Thats part of the issue: runs make it past the line, LBers, and then to the secondary. Even if Bob’s down in the box, stout D-line play makes him part of a gang tackle at most. How many times has Bob been the one to run down a back who just squirted past the D-line and our LBers? Thats not run-d thats stop-gap defense.
