BAL @ IND - how we see it

Hello Stampede Blue,

We've been bouncing around the SBNation this year, but have avoided posting on here because, well, we haven't always had nice things to say about Indy's play. However, this Sunday's matchup brings a slightly different tune:

BAL @ IND

Our line: Indianapolis by 5

We have been pretty harsh on Indianapolis in most of our reviews so far this year, but as our system was designed for, it doesn't buy into hype and personal opinion, even our own. After a close look at the numbers, we can't really argue with what our system is presenting either. Baltimore will have success running the football as they have all season, and will probably be able to march off several drives over 50 yards. The problem arises when they get near the red zone. Baltimore has had problems converting those drives into points because they have been too one-dimensional on offense. The passing game just has not gotten the job done, and the Indianapolis secondary has been the only bright spot during their dismal defensive start to the season. If you can remember the IND @ MIN game in week 2, field goals were not good enough to outscore the Indy offense, and we don't think they will be good enough to defeat Indianapolis at home. Even if Addai continues to struggle, and it is very likely he will against the Baltimore defense, look for Manning to find some way to put enough points on the board and get his team its first home win of the season.

ITN rankings:

- Indianapolis #20

- Baltimore #23

It's a tough matchup

if my Ravens have to put together long time consuming mistake free drives, only to end up with FG’s and then watch Manning march down the field in short drives, filled with long passes for scores. That recipe is one for failure if it goes like that. The Ravens need to play mistake free ball, while forcing turnovers and put TD’s on the board, as we have seen the recent failures of normally reliable but aging Ravens kicker Matt Stover. Does not look promising.

5 was about the line I saw everywhere

and if they got even betting on each side or more people on the Ravens they made money.

Why do you call us idiots?

Because your team won and is a whole lot better than the Ravens? That’s pretty ignorant and I doubt the rest of the fans here as well as the blog’s author, doesn’t act like that. Why do you have to?

I think he was refering to sancho

and Inside the Numbers LLC, and other media members. Not the Ravens or their fans.

Pretty harsh

Yeah not sure what that is all about. If he was referring to us being hard on Indy before today, well their a lot of their play had merited it. Indianapolis by 5 was the most likely outcome we predicted, and obviously Indy played their A game today and Baltimore didn’t.

We got the game right, and the correct cover on the Vegas spread (Indy by 4), accomplishing our goals. Enjoy the win Stampede Blue, and we’ll see you next week for the matchup @ GB

Actually,

calling you idiots was wrong. I can see why you picked the Colts to only win by 5. They have been a little unlike their old selves. However, I was just getting sick and tired of people discounting them for the most part, when I still see the most offensive talent in the league. I would never give up on them as long as they have Manning, Harrison, Clark, et al.

And yes,

I was definitely not referring to the Ravens and their fans. I do have enormous respect for them (especially their defense). And, with time, Flacco will probably be a future star.
