Can the Colts catch the Titans?
Now that the Colts are finally playing Colts football, we have to ask ourselves whether or not they can catch the Tennessee Titans and claim another AFC South Championship.
As of today, the Titans are 5-0, 2-0 in Divisional play. The Colts are 3-2, at 1-1 in Divisional play. Here are their schedules:
Titans
@KC
Indy
Packers
@ Chicago
@ Jax
Jets
@ Lions
@ Browns
@ Texans
Steelers
@ Indy
Colts
@ Packers
@ Titans
Patriots
@ Steelers
Texans
@ Chargers
@ Browns
Bengals
Lions
@ Jags
Titans
The Titans have 7 away games remaining, including trips to all three AFC South teams.
The Colts have 6 away games, with 2 trips to the rest of the AFC South.
Realistically, I don't believe that either team will beat the Steelers. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but I don't see it happening. I could see the Titans losing to the Jets, and the Colts losing to the Chargers.
The key for the Colts is to beat the Titans twice and run the table on the rest of the division, something they should easily be able to do. I'm predicting 12-4 records for both teams, with the Titans finishing in second with a 5-1 Divisional record and an 8-4 AFC Record, and the Colts finishing with a 5-1 Divisional record and a 9-3 AFC Record.
This assumes no catastrophic injuries for either team (Haynesworth for the Titans, Manning for the Colts), and that the Titans don't put Vince Young back in. If the Titans put VY back in, then pencil them in for 10-6 and missing the playoffs.
Thoughts?

Beat them twice and match their record in the rest
that’s totally doable. Not easy, but the Titans are well within reach.

of course they can.
The titans probably finish the season 10-6 or something. I need proof that the team is “for real” than getting lucky breaks/calls going their way late in the 4th qtr of games they should have lost.
We’ll see what’s up with them in 2 weeks vs Indy. Hopefully today’s Colts game is an indication the team is going to start playing to the ability they should be. I will wait and see though. Not going to blow my load over one game….

Overrated
I’m not gonna say the Colts have the division in hand after one convincing win but I also am not a believer in the Titans. They could turn out like the Ravens the year they won it all but I just don’t see them continuing this. I see at least 5 losses for them maybe more.
The only easy wins I see the Colts having are Texans at home @ Browns, vs. Bengals, vs. Lions.
I’m not saying they’ll lose the rest, not by a long shot but I’m also not counting on any of those as easy wins. It’s gonna be a long tough road after a slow start. Despite records this is still a damn tough division and we’ve gotta get back in it.
Peyton's good but have you ever heard of Jeff George?

Yes the Colts can and likely will catch the Titans
The Colts have hit there stride on offense. Assuming this keeps up, the play of the D will pick up and will get better once Sanders comes back
The Patriots arent that threatening without Brady and we have an easy stretch after San Diego. We should and IMO will come out as division champs when its all said and done

From Yahoo sports
• The Indianapolis Colts offense
Sunday was the first time this season that Indianapolis looked like itself on offense. Marvin Harrison made two big plays with a pair of touchdown passes, Reggie Wayne looked great as usual, and Peyton Manning finally found a comfort zone behind his offensive line in the romp over the Baltimore Ravens. The next four games (at Green Bay, at Tennessee, New England and at Pittsburgh) are pivotal. After that, the schedule gets softer than a Krispy Kreme.
I lolled cuz they didnt include SD as a hard game.

And they counted New England as a hard game
If Vincent Jackson is burning the Patriots D, what will Marvin and Reggie do? The Patriots are not a good team. Even with Brady, he can’t play defense. Scioli is a good GM, but he had terrible foresight for his defense. They have no solid defensive backs, and their linebackers were drafted when leather helmets were starting to become popular.
With Hags and Lilja back (hopefully) by that game, we will win by more than two scores. I have complete confidence in this offense. From what I saw yesterday, it would only take a Cromartie-like performance to stop it.
