John McCargo failed his Colts physical due to a herniated disk in his back and the trade has been voided. No McCargo.

lol Why am I not surprised?

We Colts fans did not pay $720 million dollars in public funds to build a brand new stadium that will get opened on Sunday Night Football by Jim Friggin Sorgi.

well this sucks

why was the Bills trying to trade someone who had a herniated disk anyway?

by MarkFive05 on Oct 15, 2008 9:47 PM EDT reply actions

either they didn't know or were trying to pull one over on the Colts

Well

For once, the Colts medical staff did its job.

That’s the only silver lining I see.

Damn Damn Damn

Seriously, the Colts DT position is edging toward Bears QB position quickly. I think Polian needs to seriously invest a first or second round pick in a run-stopping DT, because this is getting ridiculous.

Bob Sanders eats a forest on Friday so he can lay the wood on Sunday.

No, Bears QB situation would also mean they all sucked

Simon was decent when he played initially (while massively overweight) and if he would have stayed healthy long enough he could have been very good. McFarland was a huge part of the SB run. Ed Johnson anchored the #1 scoring D in the league and Pitcock was developing into a major contributor.

Still

You cannot deny that it is a problem position for us just like the QB postion has been for the Bears.

by Levante on Oct 15, 2008 10:49 PM EDT reply actions

yeah, for sure

just the issues have been injury, arrest and quitting football instead of just being bad at football

I don't know

Keyunta Dawson is bad at football. Not his fault though……..he is being used the wrong way IMHO

by Levante on Oct 15, 2008 10:56 PM EDT up reply actions

Dawson started at DT Sunday

and they did pretty well.

A 7th round rookie who is changing positions shouldn’t be reasonably expected to play great. He’s improving.

Color me unimpressed

He did well because we got up early and Baltimore pretty much had to change their gameplan.

At this point….it is what it is. I understand that.

We need to draft a DT in the first or second round

Looking at the DT this year that are coming out and could be coming out, I think that this year is pretty deep. The guys I would like to have are B.J. Raji (he’s somewhat of a risky pick though), Terrance Taylor from Michigan (who is best at stopping the run), Geno Atkins from Georgia if he leaves this year or Sen’Derrick Marks from Auburn. All of these guys are very good at stopping the run and none of them except for B.J. Raji has missed any game time.

yeah I have a feeling the bills were trying to pull a fast one too. we have a big hole to fill and there is no hiding that

by kinnickcolt on Oct 16, 2008 3:20 AM EDT reply actions

Let me assure you that the Bills aren’t the type of team to “pull a fast one”, as you termed it. McCargo hasn’t missed a practice all season. These types of injuries occur, but don’t flare up until they’re stressed; basically, McCargo was injured, but was a trip to the IR waiting to happen.

Consider yourselves lucky. You guys keep your fourth rounder, while we get to stash the guy on IR and probably cut him in the off-season.
