Playoff team?
We all know we have the potential but who can see us getting to the playoffs and dominating? Whats the problem on D?missing bob cant be to blame for it all?where the hell did all those penalties come from?
nothing went right
… yet nothing went quite wrong other than peyton’s two picks being returned for TD’s.. And one was really reggie’s fault, and I can’t really blame him for pressing at the end, when we still had a faint chance of getting back in.
ON D we really only gave up 20 points… About what we need our D to do.. Special teams wasn’t bad except for the bizarre call on Jennings – vinateri was booming kick offs for touchbacks we weren’t giving up big yards…
The refs were in this game WAY too much with some pretty lame penalties that kept drives alive for green bay.. I saw more of ron winters than green bay’s running back… And what was with the stupid challenges at the end to prolong the agony.
An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less until they know everything about nothing...
that sure was a quick recap
Offense, we need to get the run going
on Defense, they need to revert back to the form they had against Baltimore and find a way to say consistent.
Question...
From what I saw it GB never got a whole lot of pressure on Manning from its front four..it seemed as though what it came down to is GB secondary shut down our O.
When was the last time the Colts WR we shut down like this? Playoffs vs Pats circa 2004?
One positive, is that Rhodes did a great overall job and was really the only player who showed up the whole game.
Also
The Colts next opponent ran for over 300 yards so Dungy and his D better correct their mental errors that highschool players make and play their so called Colts football that they always imply

With Tennessee looking as strong as they have
If we lose next week, the division is done. We’ll be down four games, and even if we managed to win out I’d be shocked if Tennessee lost that many times.
Not to say we couldn’t get a wild card, but this next game is kinda sorta huge.

really not a bad game for most of the colts
I thought the pass defense was fine, the run defense was fine, and the offense would have been ok if they got to stay on the field. The two pick-six’s made the final score look really bad. Green Bay’s secondary seemed to get away with a shocking amount of stuff considering how strictly the ref’s were calling the game against the colts, but I guess you expect that on the road. Even special teams looked good except for the blocked FG.
I put this loss down to Tim Jennings extending multiple Green Bay drives with stupid penalties. That resulted in the defense getting tired and the offense getting totally out of sync and pressing instead of playing their gameplan. You would think the coaches would be able to smell a total meltdown by a backup player a little sooner! Either that or Daunte Hughes really really sucks.
Kelvin Hayden can’t come back soon enough!
What Ails The Colts?
I don’t like to complain about the referees, but there were some horrible calls for both teams. I thought they were very nitpicky in the beginning of the game and then it seemed like they weren’t calling the blatant PIs at the end. Also, can someone tell me what the hell was the penalty that turned a Packers punt into a 1st down (I go outside for one moment…)?
Of course, the two pick-sixes altered the game, but there were other issues I had. The Colts had a pretty good rhythm going on their second possession and they punt on 4th and 1 from around mid-field. Personally I think they should have gone for it. Especially since it was obvious that Green Bay’s game plan was to keep the ball out of Peyton Manning’s hands (the attempted onside kick early on).
Another thing that bothered me was the lack of challenges by Dungy. On the play before Green Bay’s 4th and 1, the ball touched the ground. There’s no way the receiver caught that cleanly. The Colts even called a time out, but no challenge. Without that play it would have been 4th and 6 or 7 (I think). No way Green Bay goes for it in that case. Another missed challenge was a play that was called incomplete by the referees, but Reggie Wayne had that ball cradled in his wrist.
The Tennessee game is now must-win in so many ways…Go Blue!

I agree
on ALL counts! The penalties, lack of challenges, not going for it on 4th and 1…
And since I was “privileged” (insert smart ass comment here) to get the Bretts v. the Faiders, I had to listen to this game on the radio – I don’t know what would have been worse – watching the debacle or listening. I tried to turn it off in the 3rd quarter, but I couldn’t help myself – I guess I’m a fan.

Not ready
This team was not ready to play.
Simple as that.
Also, our defensive scheme is fine…..the players we are running it with… are not.
Specifically, I have pointed out time and time again that we cannot start a 254 lb undertackle and a 268 lb rookie overtackle in this league. It just wil not work. Why don’t Brock and Reed start at those positions. The lack of bulk is why we’re getting run all over the field. Tennessee will continue to exploit this.
just got back to chicago from lambeau
fly back to dfw tomorrow…. wow we looked awful and we had so many stupid penalties… im going to bed
