Great to see an underdog win it
Hopefully they don’t blow it up and try to rebuild because that’s cheaper like the Marlins

There is absolutely no reason to "blow it up"
They have the 2nd lowest payroll in baseball. Even though it seems the Marlins always pay nothing, in ’97 and ’03, and had a decent sized payroll.
The Marlins also used their players to get even better ones (Beckett for Hanley Ramirez).
Enough baseball. The Cubs killed my spirit.
Goes to show ya...
…that coming in dead last for the past ten years does have its benefits, a great collection of first round and early second round draft picks. It pays to suck for a really long time. There is no secret to the Rays success this year… play really bad baseball for a really long time and you shall be rewarded for your constant ineptitude.
I hear the Sox are intentionally going to lose 90 games a year for the next ten seasons… why fuck with free agency and trade partners ?
Lions
The Lions disprove your theory. They’re just always bad.

The Lions make me sad...
… as do the Rams, the Bengals, and any other perennial losing team. This is one of the reasons I dislike the concept of teams going 16-0, or even 14-2… where’s the true parity? And I really don’t like the idea of dynasties (I’ve said it before and will state it again… I believe the Ming family would be thoroughly offended by saying that winning a few Super Bowls in a decade = dynasty. (Oh but of course the Colts would still go all the way frequently…)
