Looking forward to Sunday Night....

Regardless of the records and who's injured, the Pats-Colts games are some of the best games in terms of heated rivalries. Here's to a good game, a relatively injury free game, and an all out slug fest on Sunday Night Football. GO PATS!!!!!!

salt in wounds
I’ve just resurfaced from a 2 day hangover brought on by Monday night and I’m ready for this team to man up and whoop some New England tail come Sunday. Surely, there is no better cure for the disappointment of this season (so far!) than rubbing salt into the wounds of all those pats fans still crying over the sox. Seriously, I frickin hate baseball, i’m sorry, but it sucks. I do however, love the colts and if Matt Cassell walks into our house and wins Sunday, I’m going to be seriously pissed off. Go Colts!!!

There's a reason it's called the "National Pastime."
You use it to pass the time until football season starts.
As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead

Rivalry
It’s funny the differences in the talk between this year’s game and last year’s. Right now we’re all trying to pick ourselves up from the season so far, instead of being amped up to play the league’s other undefeated team.
I for one am grateful that we get to play New England this week. A win against the Patriots can really get this team and this city excited about our season again.

Exhuasted.
I’m emotionally exhausted from Monday’s game.
I’m trying to work myself up for Sunday night. But I’m still not over Monday yet. I’ll get back to you later in the week. LOL

That's an odd one
I’m glad I’m a homer or else that would be a really tough choice

playing the pats
I don’t get the spread either.. (if you are right). then again, the pats are looking more beatable, and their defense is much weaker in the secondary. (no rodney harrison!!) We always play them tough. Tennessee beat us, but with a couple of catches instead of tips (or a correctly called fumble and recovery) it might easily have gone the other way.

that is a shock… I thought maybe it was a typo… but apparently the colts have impressed someone despite being 3-4..

FO does have the Colts rated 8 places higher
6 places higher in Brian Burke’s rankings
5 places higher in these rankings (which actually give ranking’s in terms of spread. Colts by 3.5 would be the line by their rankings)

then it is a field goal game
And yes you could see this being a field goal game with the pats having defensive injuries, and Cassel instead of Brady. The colts CAN play well (as the ravens game shows)… But I think it also shows the media have jumped off the patriots bandwagon when the spread predicts a colts win.

no wireless web in the classroom?
half my students seem to have laptops and with wireless web in the lecture halls, they all seem to have facebook or something running in the background…
You must be one of the rare students who actually listens (of course I teach mostly 1st year students who haven’t figures out they get better grades if they actually pay attention to the talking head in the front oft he lecture hall)

This may be the wierdest Colts-Pats game I can remember.
At least in my mind right now. The Colts are struggling more than they have in… a long time. The Patriots are Brady-less, yet are 5-2. Amazing. They are tied for their division lead, while the Colts are four games back.
Monday’s game was bigger to me. I’m too bummed to care enough today. I am sure I will by Sunday, though.
Congrats to the Pats, OneMore. I strangely find myself liking them a bit this season. Now excuse me while I go throw up.

I need to stagger over to PatsPulpit myself.
I know that it feels wrong not feeling anymosity toward them before this game. Maybe something will happen today to change that. Like maybe Wilfork will be let off the hook for another cheap shot or something.
Oh, wait.

Patriots
When I saw Brady go down in the KC game, I actually felt some sympathy for the Pats, because what if it had been Peyton, how would I feel? And, then when they got smoked by Miami, I felt for them a second time. I’m thinking this club has had a lot of bad luck the last two years, first letting us comeback from a 21-3 deficit, and then choking in the Superbowl and only scoring 14 points. Then brady goes down and then the stomping by Miami. However, I’m over it now and I want the Colts to be out for blood! I don’t just want the Colts to win, I want them to win big. Maybe they should pretend they’re playing the Ravens?

Ravens, lol!
About Brady’s injury, you are right. We actually had a foretaste of that feeling right before the season started, when we thought Manning was worse off than we were told. I hate to see injuries affect a season. Of course, they aren’t hurting the Patriots season too bad, so far.

You're right.
Brady’s injury has not affected them too bad. They’ve probably lost two games more than they would have lost if Brady was playing. That’s not too bad. It makes you wonder what the Colts record would be with Mr. Sorgi taking snaps for all 7 games?

4th
overall pick behind Cincy, Detroit, and KC.
Eric Berry for Heisman!
5 Interceptions, 1 for TD.
(10 and 2 over his brief career)
25 tackles, 2 sacks
I know this is preposterous but hey, Charles Woodson didn't deserve it either!

This is a big game and I am semi looking forward to it although a lot of the interest is gone with brady out, manning struggling and the colts struggling. I’m mroe looking forward to Bob returning than the actual game.
It is a big game for indy- if they win the “rivalry game” by playing well it should give them some much needed confidence. If they lose to a brady-less and generally old Pats team (sorry but NE’s defense is old and not that good) then it will just sink them lower in the confidence level which could be the nail in the coffin for the season as it is hard to overcome mid season 3 game losing streaks with a 3-6 record in the mental/confidence area.
Here’s hoping Indy shows up and whips some ass.

Actually, I think it’s going to be a good game. Considering Brady’s injury and our recent struggles, I think the two teams are pretty much on the same level.

Lucas Oil's biggest drawback.
It’s cavernous.
It’s beautiful, but it just swallows up the noise compared to the old place. That was one of Indy’s big advantages, and I think they’re gonna miss it one day.
