Week 9 Picks

Picks and record are picking winners. The against the spread contest (which I'm tied for 1st in) is mgrex03's project.

Week 1: 10-6, Week 2: 10-5, Week 3: 11-5, Week 4: 6-7, Week 5: 9-5  Week 6: 9-5, Week 7: 12-2, Week 8: 8-6

Total 75-41 (64.7%)

75 correct puts me in a tie for 4th and 3 back from the leader in Mgrex03's list f experts picking winners

Star-divide

Bills over Jets and Dolphins over Broncos

,Here is what I said about last weeks Bills-Dophins game,

The Bills still might not be for real, but the Fins definitely aren't

We all make mistakes, especially when picking 14 games a week. Here is the revised version

"The Bills still might not be for real, the Fins are decent, the Broncos are collapsing and the Jets definely aren't good."

Bears over Lions, It's not often you see teams having given up early enough to trade away their top player for draft picks

Jags over Bengals, we saw 16-0 for the first time ever last season. Here we have the second 2008 contender for history. Do the Bengals or Lions have what it takes to go 0-16.

Ravens over Browns, the Ravens were blown out by the otherwise mediocre Colts. The Browns knocked off the defending champs. Any given Sunday is real and that's why you can't judge a team by one game. The Ravens are mediocre at worst and will probably be a playoff team. The Browns are mediocre at best and will probably be holding a top 10 pick in April.

Bucs over Chiefs, Both FO and Advanced NFL stats have the 1-6 Chiefs as worse than the 0-8 Bengals. I agree and here is my evidence (love the music, though I would have gone with something more like this)

Vikings over Texans, The Texans have beaten up on a couple bad teams, but the Vikings are actually decent.

Cardinals over Rams, The Rams have played well against some good teams, the Cardinals are a good team, the Rams still aren't.

Titans over Packers, I'd like to see the Titans lose and I think the Packers can play them close and even win, but wanting a team to lose isn't enough reason to pick against them (unless you really hate them, see my picks against the Cowboys).

Giants over Cowboys, The Cowboys barely beat the Bucs who are good but not great. The Giants are great.

Oakland over Atlanta, If the Falcons coaches are running a drill where Matt Ryan has to throw away from the man in the black #21 jersey they are not a good coaching staff.

Eagles over Seattle, It's not just DVOA that loves the 4-3 Eagles. Advanced NFL Stats and LVSC both have the Eagles as a top 5 team.

Colts over Pats, in games where I pick the Colts I'm 28-11 (that may also be their record over the last 2 1/2 seasons)

Redskins over Steelers, the Redskins are a sneaky good. They don't put up big numbers, they don't shut teams down, but they don't turn the ball over (only team in the league without an interception and have less than average fumbles) and they play solid D.
