ESPN
Not only are their experts idiots but so are their fans. Under the referrel of a [former, now] friend i was prompted to download "ESPN's Football Today" podcast featuring Jeremy Green, son of poor head coach Dennis Green. Luckily for me it was a great segment on whether or not the Colts' season is over, this lead to the conversation with the "Indianapoli Colts" superfan
This joker continued to state that the Colts' season is over, that they should rebuild for next year, that their team is too old [is this guy serious] and that Eli is a better qb than Peyton because Eli throws the ball with "reckless abandon".
If i had known that throwing the ball with reckless abandon led to being a great quarterback I would have told Bill Polian about this great player i saw last weekend. Albeit he was 9 years old but still obviously has the goods.
He also said that Peyton was over the hill and looking like "an old man" on the field. Not only is this disrespectul to the fans of this team who aren't bandwagoners and know about the game more than throw pass catch = good it is also disrespectful to Peyton who is the most intelligent and best QB i have ever seen.
During listening to the monstrosity [to which the espn 'expert' agreed whole hartedly with every comment] I could not help but wish that it was our own BBS telling Jeremy Green where to shove his stupid views about the colts and that we "Can't stop the run without Sanders" and how the season is actually going to unfold.
Just when you think ESPN is as bad as it can be they manage to sink to a new low.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Espn studios are in the heart of New England. Need I say more?

Don't even try to make the argument that ESPN loves New England
Mark Schlereth, Trey Wingo, Cris Carter, Tom Jackson… just to name a few off the top of my head, go out of their way to skewer and spit venom when it comes to Bill Belichick’s Patriots. The station can’t stand them.

Do yourself a favor.
Don’t watch ESPN, don’t read ESPN.com, don’t listen to their podcasts. Only anger will come from it. If you can’t break yourself completely from it stick to ESPNews, just the scores and highlights. I cut out everything from ESPN except Bill Simmons and occasionally some highlights and I still end up on an anti-ESPN/Simmons rant at least once a month.

It’s pretty obvious that most of their stuff is scripted, at least the stuff that comes from ESPN’s employees.

picked against the colts in every playoff game of the 2006-07 season… how did that work out?

I have a friend who worked for ESPN...
And yes they literally sit down and discuss what story lines they are going to cover for the year.
When my friend was there it was two years ago and people at ESPN literally said, “I want us to talk about TO every single day. Its the #1 story we have to push!”
That should tell you everything.

Absolutely correct
Some of their stuff bugs me, but I like Adam Schefter. And they have some great shows and replay some good games.

Rich is good, and most of the time I like Faulk, except when he forgets he was a Colt and bags on us.

"Primetime" Sanders drives me crazy.
I’ll never forget a couple of years back, when Deion did his repeated speech on how the “Colts are my mascara team” as they entered the playoffs with the worst run defense.
“Cameraman, zoom in on me. Close up. The Colts will look good to you the night before, but the next morning, the mascara has run off and you see the truth”
The truth was that he ate his words every week. KC, his beloved Ravens, the Pats (sorry, MaPatsFan), then the Bears in Super Bowl 41. Never saw Sanders so subdued than after those last couple of games. I will always cherish that memory.

I wonder if VY is his new project.
We see how well it went with Pacman.
I respect him for turning his life around and wanting to help others, I do. But in the words of Keyshawn Johnson: “C’mon, man!”

Yeah Sanders is arguably one of the most annoying people on tv.

Adam Schefter is really the only football guy I trust with any Rumors
He won’t say it unless it’s pretty darn certain.
Rich Eisen has waaaaaaay too much fun on the job. Gotta love it.

Jay Glazer
Also never seems to be wrong with the stuff he digs up. Chris Mortensen is AWFUL though, he’s always wrong it seems.

I'm surprised...
…that you’re so worked up about Jeremy Green. It’s kind of old news that he’s a Colts hater. I’ve been completely ignoring any interviews or articles that he has a part in for years now in order to avoid getting worked up over that idiot running his mouth off. It does chagrin me that to think about how happy he must be about how the Colt’s season has gone so far.

Yep, Indy is too old at the 3rd youngest team in the NFL.
Manning is way too old at the ripe old age of 32 and needs a wheelchair out there as he plays.
Indy does need toe rebuild despite having the same roster that a season ago went 13-3 and could have gone 16-0 with 3-5 plays going differently.
The sad thing is that a person like that probably votes, probably has or will procreate and may have a job that influences others.
It is stuff like that which makes me have no faith in the human species. Some can say “oh that is taking it too far and it is only football” but the problem is that a person who thinks along the line of that guy (or those guys including that Green fellow) think that way in every other area of life….and that is scary
