Another week, another big game in the AFC South, which will pit two teams desperate to claw their way out of the rotten funk they have started the season in. The Colts are in a little better shape health-wise, and we will get to see what kind of player Daniel Muir is at DT. The Colts are also in better shape than the Texans seeing as they have won a game. The Texans are winless. Also, their stadium and community are still recovering from the after affects of Hurricane Ike. Like the game preview said, look for a very emotional, spirited, tough game from the Texans. They are a very good football team, and their 0-3 record is more a result of rotten luck than bad players or bad coaching.

As with our open threads this year, this will likely be one in a series of three or four. Gone are the days where I could just post one open thread and have it last the whole game. Now, you folks talk up a storm! I need four, at least, to keep the thing moving. If you don't immediately see a thread pop up after one gets over 400 or 500 comments, just relax. Either I or my co-writers will get one up. If we cannot, feel free to continue any discussion in a FanPost. These thread are for you to cheer and rant about the game, and they are enjoyable, for me personally, to read afterward.

I’ve got the Bills D going up against Arizona, But the Colts D going up against you know who. Who do I take? I like to stay true to the blue but the Colts D have only put up 4 points a game. But we are playing Houston. Please help me.

Ugoh is in uniform but wont start according to Lamey. That doesnt mean he wont play though (at least thats what I think there getting at). Guards are Richards and Pollak. Center Saturday and RT Diem

Well, it is official- the Colts in 08 suck. I don’t want to hear any excuses about injuries and all this crap. I mean really, 04 they have a record setting offense only to suck vs NE in the playoffs. 05 they have a shot to go undefeated int he regular season and have the top D only to choke it away vs the Steelers in the playoffs. 06 they somehow win the SB (I’m thinking fluke right about now) despite a pitiful D int he reg season. 07 comes along and they play amazingly in the reg season only to have no D in the playoff choke job and now this. Either the players aren’t that good or the coaching is crap or both.

If some homers want to keep acting like things will be ok then hey, knock yourself out and keep drinking that kool-aid. Look to the injury excuse and ignore other teams have similar injuries yet actually don’t suck. Ignore that last year they had worse injuries yet they still did well. Find any excuse to try and justify them playing like this. Whatever. I have tried to rationalize away the first 3 games but it is clear this is the Indy team of 2008 and I will be shocked if they finish with a winning record.

Totally pathetic. I’d love to see what New England would do with this roster. I bet they’d be looking to go for their 4th straight Sb right about now but not thew Colts. Instead they’ll keep playing like crap. Then again, maybe the roster is just crap and has looked better than it truly is.

I am ashamed right now to be a fan of this team. Such high expectations coming into this year (going off on 07 and you know, thinking logically that they’d not regress) and they come out playing like complete shit.

Disclaimer: This is a request, not a whine. Just please be aware of different viewpoints.

I love this blog, and reading it while taking in a game is a great crowd feeling. However, I really, really hate the use of “Oh my God” and “Oh my Fucking God” and of course, “God Damn”. I am fine with “Fuck”, “shit”, “damn”, “asswipe” and so on, but using the Lord’s name in vain (i.e., calling on Him disrespectfully without actually addressing Him or even thinking about Him) is breaking one of the Big Ten commandments and to many Christians is way, way worse than all other graphic swear phrases available and newly created every day. I hear sailor-quality swears all day at work, but the "OMG"s are the only ones that make my skin crawl.

So, regardless of your religious affiliation or perhaps your alliance with non-religion or atheism, next time you’re choosing your “swears”, at least be aware that to some of us, the OMGs and JHCs and GDs are really awful things to say and hear.

I’m thinking that to make it fun, we should try to come up with more colorful alternative phrases, with as many references to excrement and fornication (that’s shit and fuck, btw) as you like. I know you guys can come up with some good ’uns, e.g., “Blessed Mother of the papacy!!!”

Again, i’m not whining, and I love free speech. This is just a request and/or educational announcement for those of you who care.
