Man, it's not going to get any easier for Peyton.
We are all waiting for Peyton to get the funk out. It's well documented....no preseason, he is still not at full speed and strenght, his TD's are down, his int's are up, his yards per attempt are down, and he is just a bit off. There have been 2 or 3 throws each game that he has missed open receivers that he never used to miss. A few have REALLY hurt and most likely lead to the Jacksonville loss.
I am patient. The flow, rhythm, and timing will come. Let's just hope that we aren't 3-5 when we start lighting teams up.
Looking at the schedule and then the stats, it's going to get even rougher for Peyton. The next 3 games are against the 3 best pass defenses in the NFL and 2 of them are on the road. When you look at the defensive passer rating against them, these next 3 games are going to really test an already shaky offense.
1) Baltimore: They are just ridiculous. QB's have only a 46.2 completion percentage against them for 4.9 yards per attempt. They have given up only 3 TD's and have picked off 7 passes. Their defensive passer rating is 44.6. They are turning every QB into Ryan Leaf.
2) Green Bay: They are giving up some yards but only a 52.1 completion percentage. 7 TD's and 9 picks. A 63.5 passer rating against.
3) Tennessee: An eye popping 1 TD and 10 int's. A 52.2 passer rating against.
Wow!! No rest for the weary. A clicking on all cylinders Peyton Manning would have some struggles against defenses performing this well. A still trying to find it Peyton Manning faces some tough challenges and might still be looking for it in 4 weeks.
It's a team game. The defense and running game had better be on. We need to get 2 of these 3 games somehow someway.

They are missing Cullen Jenkins and Al Harris
I think that had a lot to do with how they looked against Cpt. Intangibles.

You're right
It just struck me as odd (or unfortunate for Peyton). Here they are just a smidge off here and there. They need to find it fast as a passing offense and the next three games are against the current top 3 in the league.
They could just as well be playing the bottom 3, but nope. The nastiest squads on QB’s that the league has to offer.

Don't force the O and you'll be fine
The Ravens and Titans struggle to score and hawk for INT’s. Payton should lay low and take what’s given to him. If it comes down to to squeezing a 3rd down pass or chucking it out of bounds- Chuck It Out. You’ll have 2 chances to score to every one of theirs. 20 points should beat the Ravens and Titans. We didn’t get a sack on K. Collins but applied some pressure and stayed home at linebacker most of the day. Collins is pretty robotic and I would rather face him than Vince. The Titans really hurt us with slants to RB’s in front of Ray (that’s why he didn’t blitz more). Their top RB (name ?) is small and cuts on a dime. He pops through the line with slick moves. I’m not sure he can take a RB beating the whole season though.

I don't know.
You might get more scoring chances than you think if our run defense can’t tackle anybody.

Tony Ugoh
Seems to me that Ugoh has missed almost as many(if not more) games in less than a season and a half as Tarik Glenn did his whole career.
Time for Tony to start playing like a TIGER, and suck it up and play with bumps and bruises. It’s the NFL, pal! Everybody plays nicked up after the first week.
That would then allow Charlie Johnson to slide back to left guard, where he’s not as exposed for lack of skillset as a left tackle.
If Tony the Tiger starts performing up to his level of ability consistently, this offense will perk up significantly.
Come on, Tony! I’m sick of watching Peyton getting clobbered from the left side.

Tarik missed 6 games in 2003
and that’s it. 154 starts in 160 regular season games with the team. He did take a unusually early retirement for a lineman. He’s 32 right now.
Ugoh missed 5 last year and two so far this year.
So you’re right.

I miss Tarik.
Wish he wouldn’t have retired…
That is the most important side, somebody needs to step up and do the job.

Huh! :)
Dear Coach Fisher,
I would like to request that you start Vince Young on the night of October 27, 2008. I can assure you that he now wants to play football and is feeling lots better emotionally…

Im Glad we are playing good teams against the pass, hopefully it will get us to establish the run. Oh and regular pass defense is not the same as pass defense against a healthy Manning. You could be the best defense in the NFL and still not stop him.
