MNF Open Thread (SF-ARI)
The wonders of Fantasy Football, making be care about a Cards-Niners game.
I'm sitting on 3 surmontable leads coming into tonight, all with players left to go for my opponents. In accending levels of "makes me nervous"-ness
Micheal Lewis and Gerald Hayes vs 15.82 pts (to put me into a playoff spot)
TIm Hightower vs 19pts (to put me into a playoff spot)
Steve Breaston vs 8.03pts (to clinch a playoff spot and keep the overall lead in the 18 to 88 league)
On the actual football side, fans all over the world we see if the Cardinals are really no longer the Cardinals.

It not even kickoff and I already want kornheiser to shut up
if the Niners can keep it close (+9.5) I’ll hit 10 correct picks ATS for the first time since week 2

I'll get over it
that was the league I can most afford to lose in right now. I was in first and a game from clinching a playoff spot. The other two I’m fighting for the playoffs.

almost as dumb as some of the questions in Phil B's chat right now
Should the Colts trade Peyton for Eli? Which would you rather build your team around right now?
Who do you think would win in a fight: Bob Sanders vs. Troy Palamalu?

what you think about this
Chris (Saratoga Springs): Gary, just a hunch but, do you think there is a problem with Peyton’s arm? He looks like he has lost some zip in his passes, the pass to Wayne(tip) and the two potential td’s to Harrison were clearly under thrown. I’ve watched all his games and it just looks like his arm is a little tired.
SportsNation Scouts Inc.‘s Gary Horton: (4:35 PM ET ) That’s a very interesting question. I’ve had several discussions with people who have said the same thing, that he may be hiding an injury. I don’t see the same velocity when he needs to get the ball in a tight spot. I do think Harrison is slowing down which may lead us to believe some of those throws aren’t very good. But nothing is coming out of the Colts in terms of an injury. But I agree, he doesn’t quite look like the Peyton we have seen in the past. The touch is good, decisions are good, but I just don’t see the same zip on the ball.
Trent Dilfer said something similar while doing the analyst thing
there’s no way to really know. Protection was an issue early on and there’s always the knee. I really don’t know what’s up with Peyton’s deep ball.

Mike Singletary
This is my first time watching him in action and I have to say that he seems to be genuinely shocked by everything. I mean that in the best way possible.

Takeo Spikes
I’ll be honest, I had no idea he was still in the league.
I wish MNF had more games featuring teams that aren’t in the spotlight as much. There’s probably a bevy of players that I had no idea were still in the league.

“Polian Corner” every week on wednesday.
What I heard about the radio show was they stopped because he was upset about his comments being taken out of context by some people (Florio).

that's really lame
i woudnt expect someone like polian to be concerned about what florio reports.
It was always awesome listening to it on a monday after a colts win or loss, the calls were a bit lovey dovey but polians analysis of team was honest and insightful.

yeah...
Colts lose by 400 points…
first call, Billy from “Indiana”
(Larry Bird type of draw)
Hey, Bill, hey, Bob, how are ya? (long, awkward pause while Billy waits for them to say fine, and then ask him how he’s doing) I just wanted to say, the state of indiana owes you a debt of gratitude, I would offer you my first born daughter, but i only got sons. You do a great job out there, you and coach to.. du.. uhm, the coach guy, I’m amazed at the job you do, I was really impressed with the defense and offense yesterday, ya know, the fact that they were down 400, they kept tryin, ya know… i’ll hang up and listen to your thoughts, thanks!

I'm actually kinda bummed for the 49ers
I always seem to like the underdog. Unless of course they’re playing the Colts. Or if the underdog is the Pats.
