MNF Open Thread

Bill-Browns, who can tolerate the MNF crew long enough to find out which team's wildcard hopes are totally crushed?

PS: Mgrex03 you forgot one

Yipesbrady_medium

via deadspin.com

If the MNF crew gets too intolerable there's always Indy Star Colts reporter Phil B's weekly chat at 8pm central to get your Colts fix. He's a great source of info (the only person who's been able to tell me anything about Lilja) and the point of the chat is to interact and answer fan questions.

I've counted 12 drinks so far

Complete with the draft video. I knew they couldn’t resist.

Oh, and Trent Edwards is bad.

What an awful pass

He had all day to throw, and threw it into coverage

by mgrex03 on Nov 17, 2008 9:12 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

End of 1, 6-0 Browns

Quinn grade: C-. 1/8 will do that. 2 of those were flat drops by Edwards though. And they are winning, although that is all on the defense.

He still has no idea if Lilja or Hall will make it back

Lilja for lack of info, Hall for being told probably next week for about two months.

Ugh, I am starting Trent Edwards in the league here, he is close to cost me the game

by oscarx21 on Nov 17, 2008 9:38 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Nevermind, he threw a TD

by oscarx21 on Nov 17, 2008 9:40 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wow, some awful tackling

I think I just beat the King there.

how many drinks do i owe?

by zkmavz on Nov 17, 2008 9:47 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Biggest surprise

Only 1 mention of Weis. I thought there would be a lot more.

by mgrex03 on Nov 17, 2008 9:49 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

he has a tackle

I assume on one of Edward’s picks

Don’t worry the guy that gave up the long TD to Eddie Royal has been matched up on him. The big play is coming

/I need him to outscore Lindell by 10

I have, in fact, beaten the King

I’m not a full 2 games up on the entire league.

It would have been by more this week if Delhomme realized he was playing the Lions. Shaun Hill would have been the better play.

Interesting note from Phil B

before the game Marvin warmed up with Peyton and Reggie pre-game for the first time since his knee injury last year. Apparently before this week Marvin had been getting therapy on the knee instead of warming up with Peyton and Reggie.

Good evening all

Just joining in now after catching up via TiVo. Had a few too many laughs because the drinks should be flowing. And despite rooting for the Browns for WC, I do have a special place in my heart for Marshawn (GO BEARS!). Happy to see he scored on an awesome effort.

even worse idea for a MNF drinking game

drink everytime someone in the KSK chat implies that Brady Quinn likes men

by shake n bake on Nov 17, 2008 10:35 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Have they made this observation?

Quinn is playing without sleeves, and no jacket on the sideline.

Edwards has the jacket on during Injury Timeouts, with sleeves on as well.

Just saying.

by mgrex03 on Nov 17, 2008 10:37 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

maybe he wants to show off the arms to the predominantly male MNF audience

just saying

Maybe the Browns should bring more than 4

On 3rd and 3. That may be why Edwards has had all day to throw.

Why are they not feeding him more?

The Browns can’t stop the run. Keep feeding him and Jackson the ball.

That is, if they want to win.

I'm back down one after the Lindell FG

down 15 in the shakedown league now. Giving up there. 3-1 would be a solid week.

If you ask Brown fans

There biggest gripe is that they don’t get the ball to their playmakers enough. Those guys are Harrison and Cribbs.

I haven’t watched every game, but I’d have to agree. It’s a crime they dont touch the ball on offense combined more than 5 times a game.

That's a bad call

He was definitely still in bounds when he was hit.

Especially with how late the flag was.

by mgrex03 on Nov 17, 2008 11:08 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

thought

that looked familiar… but i remember it going for touchdowns

by zkmavz on Nov 17, 2008 11:12 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

We were closer to the end zone in both instances

The Bills’ safety had enough time to get over and tackle him before the end zone.

Thankfully, the Steelers and Texans had no such time.

from john clayton

sorry if this was already posted…

“Manning was able to distribute the ball to six different receivers, including Marvin Harrison. Harrison wasn’t great and still seems a step slow, but he caught nine passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. The Colts finish the season with a relatively easy schedule, and their offense is slowly getting on a roll.”

if the colts played the bills

what are the odds that the bills would score a special teams td?

The Colts have been good at covering kicks this year

they are really good on returns though

If I was ranking the return danger of the Colts opponents I would go Browns, Bears, Bills

Agreed

Special teams have been solid for the most part. We could do more getting yards on returns, but coverage has been solid, and Hunter/Adam have both done their jobs for the most part.
