Random Observations
I have been off the site for a week or so, and thought I'd post some thoughts in one spot here.
1. The Colts need Bob Sanders down the stretch. I think our regression in run defense this week proved that. It is reminiscent of '06, in that the Zombie is proving to be the man in his abscence as well as in his presence. Bullitt, whom I like a lot, is showing a knack for the big play that everyone will see on sportscenter wih his picks. However, watching the game a second time left me believing he misses the routine assignments enough to counter the enthusiasm. He is a very good player, and one that I hope we will keep around for quality depth. But he isn't Bob.
2. I heard the debate last week on tv about who is better, Sanders or Polamalu. I would go with Polamalu for this season. He came on strong a couple of years back, but injuries have hampered his playing time and effectiveness the past couple seasons. Meanwhile the Brains Eater had one of his healthiest seasons last year and rightfully earned DPOY. This year, durability has been more on Polamalu's side than Bob's, and Troy is playing like a beast. In every facet. I think health will always be a key factor in their year by year comparisons.
3. Fun thought. Having Sanders and Polamalu both playing safety for the Colts.
4. I see we have some new posters around here while I have been out. That is normal, as this blog is a growing success story with excellent leadership. I must say, though, that we keep getting that occasional newbie that seems suspiciously like a troll in sheep's clothing....
5. Peytonsthebest, I forgot not to wear my #18 jersey the past couple of games (I did take it off late in the Steelers game though, but I wore it the entire Texans game). And we won still, so I guess our experiment (and my failure to properly execute) proves that I am not the x-factor. My wardrobe does not have the power of luck after all, I guess. This means that it is entirely on you to keep the vibes going right. The team is counting on you, now that we know where the secret lies. Please don't let us down. If we win the super bowl, everyone at Stampede Blue will have to pitch together to get you a certificate to the restaurant of your choice. I'm certain that I speak for everyone here when I say that. The question is, where is the place to go there in California?
6. Thanksgiving Day. Potentially a game between a team without a loss versus a team without a win. Very boring.
7. The primetime games have been very good contests the past few weeks, with the exception of the presidential bowl on November 3rd. Even SF and ARI was a thriller. I wonder if this Thursday we will see the trend continue...
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

The jersey thing...
I wore it for about 1/2 of the Pittsburgh game and I completely forgot to wear it for the Texans game. This may not be on me afterall, unless its the lack of consistency that’s the difference-maker.
And bluegirl has picked against us every week we’ve won since Baltimore (did you vs. Houston?) so, we have that going for us as well.
If we go to and win the SB, I will gladly take credit (HA!) for my donning of the Sacred Blue #18 on Halloween – plus wig and ’stache.
I swear, I will figure this out. Goodness knows its much simpler than figuring out the possible play-off picture!! That is giving me a headache.

Lack of consistency.
That may be it! I knew we’d break the code in time. (Have you shaved the mustache since Halloween, then? =p)
I guess we need to be looking for certificates for good restaurants in Canada as well, then. Need suggestions from bluegirl, too. And if we win it all, I think that even the trolls in sheep’s clothing should pitch in for these certificates.
So, the Golden Arches for you, was it?

Golden Arches...
very funny, btw.
Just everyone’s undying gratitude will be enough for me! LOL!!
Yeah, the mustache is no more…it was itchy.
The more consistent I am, the less the Colts are. The less consistent I am, the more the Colts are…hmm…I LIKE it!

Don't laugh at the Golden Arches.
I have a ten year old son and two daughters, ages six and eighteen months. Mickey Dees may be our favorite :) Or Wendy’s. Either way, the price is right. My wife and I lean towards Wendy’s out of the two, although those McDonalds $1 sweet teas are hard to pass up. (Man, I used to be cool!)

I know, I know.
I have a 15 year old son and 12 year old daughter…
Personally, I love their Cheeseburgers…you know the ones, with the dehydrated onions? Good stuff.
And, I’ve been swinging through there for coffee in the morning. I can’t justify the expense of Starbucks anymore. Mickey D’s coffee is actually pretty good.
I am kind of liking Jack in the Box right now. Their stuffed jalepeno poppers rock.

Oh and BTW
you’re a parent…it is impossible to be cool.
I’ve actually heard myself tell my kids to “turn the music down” – I never thought I’d see the day!

Bullitt
I agree he didn’t have a great game overall, and I was surprised because he has been pretty solid in previous weeks when he started for Sanders. I wonder if he didn’t prepare as well last week because he wasn’t expecting to start. Hopefully this will teach him to always be ready to play, not just when he knows he’s going to start.

Good point on the preparation.
He did seem better in previous games. Still, we need Bob down the stretch.

Regarding Thanksgiving
It won’t be a boring game if the Titans get beat. Stranger things have happened in the past.

You know, that is a wild thought.
I can’t see it happening, but it is a fun thought, Ayrshire!

Bob is a Freak
Bob is not your typical safety, and neither is Polamalu. Safeties that can come up and play the run as well as they do, are amazing players, so I believe expecting every safety to be on this level is ridiculous. I mean it’s so rare, sometimes you’re a good safety, and don’t even effect the run game at all.
Fact is in no defense, are we supposed to rely on a safety to be the run stopper. If we could simply get the rest of the players to do there job, it would really set us over the top in having a player like Bob. As well he wouldn’t be forced to play when he’s not 100%. Right now I feel everyone else sucks so bad against the run, he needs to play, even when he’s not healthy, meaning it takes him longer to heal.

You're totally right
Sanders wouldn’t have to be relied upon to stop the run if the others would do their job.
