Seriously, why did Indiana hire him?
He did it before he was hired, and then did it while at IU. He screwed the university over. WHY???
Go Colts!

It’s easy in hindsight to blame them, but he had gotten in trouble just once in a decently long coaching career. It’s not as though he was a habitual offender or anything. IU definitely had to take a leap of faith, but I don’t think it was that big of a leap. Also, you would have to hope that he realized that there was no need to teach when you’re at IU.
As an IU grad (‘06), I’m definitely still pissed at Sampson for all of this and I’m glad that the NCAA ended up deciding that he was the bad guy. We went through half a decade of mediocrity and finally had a chance at a great season and it gets ruined by him. There was a legitimate chance at making a run in the tournament and it got dashed for a completely retarded decision. Geeze I didn’t realize how pissed I still am.
Lastly, so far at least, Crean looks great. Next year’s recruiting class looks great and everything about TC screams “good guy”. Hopefully we can go back to being proud Hoosiers before long…

You clearly don’t know a whole lot about Tan Tommy, then. I can’t fault you for that, though. Outside of MSU and maybe UW@Probation, no one in the Big Televen has any experience with him. Give it time, IU will be good again; just never as good as you’d hope.

Wow, I never would have thought there was a Indiana related Big Ten coach
I’d want less than Iowa’s previous coach, but Alford was just a mediocre coach and a huge asshole who the whole town hated, he didn’t cheat.
