Around SBN: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez Heats Up, Hughes Talks Retirement

"Dungy said prior to the workout, that if injuries kept safeties Antoine Bethea (ankle) and Melvin Bullitt (rib) out of the game, Sanders could play. After practice, though, Dungy indicated Bethea and Bullitt would be available, allowing Sanders another week to heal."

This really looks like the knee problem that cost him the second half of 2006. He could play after a week of rest, but afterwards his knee would swell up too badly for him to play the next week. He was finally able to come back after 4 consecutive weeks off.
