AFC South

Jacksonville lost to Cincinnati. Anyone else feel sick that we lost to this team? They lost to arguably the worst team in the league and we lost to them, at home. Talk about a bad season. They were favourites for AFC South too, right now they look prime to take bottom of the south. Houston is also doing pretty well and hot on our tail.

Now all we need is for Tennessee to fall off their pedestal and lose their next 8 games in a row so we can take the South (unlikely but lets all pray really hard).

Wildcard not seeming impossible right now.

We'll make the playoffs, one way or another.

And the Colts team that lost to Jacksonville is completely different than the Colts team that beat the Pats, that played really well against the Titans; we are getting healthy and Manning is hitting his groove with 3/4 receivers. I’m excited.

hahahaha. Obviously you were watching the games in Madden 09 because the Colts did not play really well vs the Titans and they were not that good vs New England.

It is clear that many Colts fans do not look at stats at all or even deeper into the games while watching. If they did they’d see how bad Indy’s D was vs New England seeing as they only stopped the Pats from scoring 2 times and one was because of a stupid pats personal foul penalty.

As for Manning hitting his groove…one game means he is hitting his groove? He was shit vs the Titans and shit vs the Packers. New England also has a shit D vs real passing attacks.

Manning is my favourite player and I want nothing but the best for him but it will take more than a good game vs New England to show me he is finally hitting his groove. I thought he was finally back to his regular self after that ravens game and look what happened.

Oh and the D wasn’t that much better vs New England than they were vs the jags. The difference is the offense was better vs NE so it helped mask some of the D’s suckitude….that and Cassel/the Pats gameplan was mega cautious.

Oh really

we don’t look at stats enough. The stats both raw and in more in depth methods (FO, AdvancedNFLStats) say the defense is mediocre, not “crap” or full of “suckitude”

J-ville and Cinci

To me, our Colts team last night looked a lot like the Colts team which should have beaten J-ville, and would have if not for atrocious clock management at the end of the game. The Colts scored around 20 points in each game, the offense was moving the ball very effectively at times, and the defense couldn’t stop the run in both games. I’m not sure how to feel this morning. One one hand it’s good to at least get back to 500, but I feel New England beat themselves at the end more than the Colts winning it. The bottom line for me, is that the Colts powerful offense needs more time on the field to start putting up points totalling in the 40 point range. And, that means the defense has got to step up at some point and make stops on third downs. I haven’t seen any signs of them stepping up. They still look porous, they’re awful on third downs, and they still can’t pressure the QB (so the QB has all the time he needs to find a receiver and throw). It’s a disturbing trend and believe me, I’d like to see things the way MarkFive05 sees them, but I don’t. I’m still a real fan though, not a bandwagon fan……just telling how I see this team at this time. Anything is possible though, the defense finally showed up in the superbowl run in early 2007, so maybe that will happen soon. Let’s hope.

'played well'

played well against the Titans……..are you serious? LOL Regardless, I do think they’re playoff bound.

Refs decided that game.

Enough said. They gave the Jags seven points that decided the games. We didn’t lose to the Jags, we lost to the Zebra’s.

yep, the refs gave up 236 yards rushing and 41 mins time of possession.

what an idiotic thing for you to say. One blown call and one missed call does not define the whole fucking game.

Indy lost because they played like shit. Nuff said.

they played well enough for those little bounces to alter the outcome

the Colts should have played better and they lost the game. The game was as close as they get though and two big ref mistakes make a difference in a tight game.

Well.

It was nice to have calls and non-calls go our way this time.

I am cautiously optimistic…Pittsburgh is going to be a real test.

If the D doesn’t get the opponents team off the field faster, I may just break my t.v. Is it just me?

We couldn’t get a sack…that needs to improve. The Pats didn’t get a sack – that was fantastic. Now, if the Oline can block better for the run game and open up some holes.

Why don’t we use Dom in the first part of the game…he seems like a more powerful runner, where Joe seems a little quicker. I thought on a couple of Joe’s runs, if Dom were in he could’ve picked up at least a yard or two more just on momentum.

Number 4 came through. That was sweet!

1 penalty…just 1? WOW. FRIGGIN. WOW. I am so freaking impressed. I think the fact that we made very few mistakes is the thing I’m most thrilled about.

I’ll say it again…Jennings surprised the cr*p out of me. I was impressed. I still want Kelvin back in one of those spots.

Overall, we were much improved as far as not shooting ourselves in the foot. I hope this is the beginning of a consistent Colt team.

Oh, and coltsfanawalt, I wore my jersey the whole game! I think the curse is broken. BTW, the last time I wore the jersey on Halloween, we won the Superbowl!!!!

Bless you!

Super Bowl 43, here we come!

This was, by a bizarre set of circumstances, the first Colts game in the past three seasons that I didn’t wear my Manning jersey during the game. Seeing how it turned out, I wonder if I should keep it in the closet as long as we keep winning, like those guys that don’t shave or get a haircut while on a streak. But that would be a difficult break in tradition. What say you?

Maybe just try it

for the Steelers game. After watching them last night, I’m scared. They looked mean. I mean scary mean. One hit on Campbell was brutal. If they hit Peyton like that I may have to hire “Guido” to go to Steel town and take out some knees….LOL – I think.

They should be afraid of Sanders and Freeney and Mathis because they don’t just hit, they dislocate bones.
