Fantasy Football Sleepers and Busts: Week 10

Editor's Note:  Be sure to get your picks in for the Stampede Blue Prediction Contest.  You have until 1:00 ET TodayGet your picks in sooner rather than later.

Welcome to Week 10 of your Fantasy Football Sleepers and Busts.  I'll review last week before going into this week's studs and duds.

Due to the lateness of this, I'll put everything after the jump.

Star-divide

Sleepers:

  • Donovan McNabb:  349 passing, 2 TD/1 INT = 23 pts.  Good day for McNabb, in an easy win over Seattle.
  • Ricky Williams:  16 yds rush, 23 yds rec, 3 pts.  Not a good week for Sticky Ricky.  Brown got the goal line carries, meaning bad news for Williams.
  • Eddie Royal:  69 yards, 1 TD = 13 pts.  A good week for Royal, even in a loss.  His week got even bigger this week in Cleveland.

Busts:

  • Ben Roethlisberger: 50 yds passing, 1 INT, 1 rush TD = 6 pts.  Ben looked awful when he was in there, then got injured on his TD run.  Hopefully the bad Ben continues this week.
  • Marion Barber: 54 yds rushing, -12 receiving = 4 pts. It's not often you lose a point receiving, but Barber did last week.  This one seemed too easy.
  • Greg Jennings: 79 yards = 7 pts.  Average week for Jennings, and he wasn't in the top 25 of WR, so another win for me.

My bonus pick of Kyle Orton was affected by his injury in the first half, although he did have 108 yds passing and a rushing TD, which is 10 points, in less than a half.  So I finally missed a bonus pick.  Although I did predict Campbell would throw his first INT, which he did twice.

So I was 5 / 7 last week, and 35/61 for the season. The last 4 teams are on bye this week, so make sure to take them out of your lineup (CIN, DAL, TB, WAS).  Here are you fantasy nuggets for Week 10:

Sleepers:

  • Chad Pennington vs. SEA:  Like I said last week, Seattle is bad against QBs.  Pennington has played decent all year, and you should expect a big game, at home, against a west-coast team in an early game.
  • Leon Washington vs. STL: This is a selfish pick.  With Portis on bye this week, I need to play Washington.  I should have played him when Peterson was on bye, but didn't.  I'm learning my lesson, and the Rams defense is bad against fantasy RB (30th).
  • Matt Jones vs. DET:  I'll go against the Lions, which is almost always a safe pick.  Jacksonville lost to winless Cincinnati last week, and I can't see them losing again to a winless team.  Expect Jones, who has been playing well as of late, to have a big day.

Busts:

  • Peyton Manning vs. PIT: I had to do it, even though I hope I'm dead wrong.  The Steelers defense is very good against QBs (only the Colts are better), and the weather is not going to be our offense's friend.
  • Brian Westbrook vs. NYG:  The Giants are #2 against fantasy RB, matched up against arguably the best fantasy RB.  I think the defense will win in this one, and Reid starts throwing the ball early.
  • Andre Johnson vs. BAL: Johnson has been on fire the last 5 weeks, but those have included games against Detroit and Cincinnati.  The Ravens are much better on defense, and our good friend Sage is back under center.

Bonus pick:  David Garrard vs. DET.  The Jaguars need this game badly, and the Lions come calling just at the right time.

Weekly Derek Anderson "bust" pick:  Against the Ravens in Week 9, Anderson was 17/33, 219 yds 2 TD/1INT = 18 pts.  Not bad, until you look to see the INT literally ended any chance of a Browns win.  As we all know, he was benched, and their backup had a pretty good game on Thursday, even in a loss. (21 fantasy points).  I guess I'll have to change this section from now on.
