James Petrowski released
The person released to make room for RB Najeh Davenport was TE James Petrowski. Petrowski was signed from the Tennessee practice squad when Tom Santi was put on IR. He had yet to be active for a game. The Colts, by rule, had to keep him on their roster for atleast 3 weeks after signing him from the Titans', and were now free to release him. The fact that he was released means the Colts' feel all their running backs will be healthy again this year. I know most of you know this, but I'm just trying to fill the 75 word min and sound really smart.

glad Simpson isn't IR'ed
I’d rather not go through another kick returner (though I wouldn’t hate Garcon’s guaranteed decent but nothing more returns if he was gone).

Yeah
I was worried about losing him for the year. Not only because of his returning abilities, but I hope they can develop him into a 3rd down back later on. I don’t know what his catching ability is like, but with his speed/agility, he seems like he’d work well in space.
Not sure why they ended up signing Petrowski since he was never even activated. Oh well, the practice squad signings have worked out well for us this year.
