I don't like Mathis and Brackett being left out.
Also, did you strike Dallas’ name out on purpose? /curious

Proof positive
That the fans should have absolutely no meaningful say in pro bowl voting.

Yeah, it's not supposed to be a popularity contest.
Here’s the examples that stand out as glaringly wrong to me:
Offensive Tackle: NO WAY does Matt Light deserve to get in over Michael Roos.
Defensive End: I hate to say it, but KVB doesn’t deserve it – he’s been injured and missed too many games.
Cornerback: Yay Nnamdi Asomugha! The fans get this one right, he’s the best player on an absolutely horrible team.
Strong Safety: Bob Sanders is great… when he’s not hurt. I think he’s missed too many games to qualify. Not Colts-bashing, I just don’t think anyone who misses more than 1 or 2 games should go.
Kicker: Who the heck is Dan Carpenter? And why does he deserve it over Bironas or Vinateiri?
Carpenter is the rookie FIns kicker
I had never heard of him, but he just won special teams player of the month

and Asomugha should have been a easy first
he’s shut down every WR he’s faced this year (though couldn’t handle Tony Gonzalez).

Also:
Jake Long? Really? And LaDanian Tomlinson was great choice… in 2006. But not this year.
I think it’s worse in the NFC, what with all the Redskins on the list.

Kicker: Vinatieiri or Gostkowski
Wide Receiver: Wes Welker??? He currently leads the entire league with 96 receptions
Keep the faith!
Agree with Welker
Even though Moss has more TDs, Welker has been more productive, especially when it counted.
Why Welker's receptions don't earn him a pro bowl invite
Of his 96 catches this year, 33 have been caught behind the line of scrimmage, while 54 have been on passes thrown less than 10 yards in the air. Only nine times this season has Welker caught a pass more than 10 yards down field.
He’s running screens and dumpoffs. All the praise in the world for the hands and route running, but he’s not playing the same game as the other top WRs. He’s an aerial running game. He’s taking long handoffs.

he's a phenom
Too bad the NFL doesn’t keep stats for YAC, ‘cause he’d win that one for sure.
Keep the faith!
Funny.
I keep forgetting Jake Scott isn’t a Colt anymore…ugh.

People are idiots.
Ray Lewis? Seriously? Look, he’s not going to knife you if you don’t vote for him … er, well.
And Randy Moss hasn’t even been the best receiver on his own team. And I agree that Light shouldn’t be up there, but Mankins definitely should.
LaDanian has been a shell of his former self. Old LaDanian had more ability in his big toe than new LaDanain. Til he lost it.
Finally, Brett Favre? Holy shit, people. Holy shit.
As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead

Gotta agree with your take on Favre....WTF?
I used to like/respect him, now just the mention of his name annoys me like nails on a chalk board.

Favre is the worst pick
the guy that he replaced has been better at pretty much everything and the guy that replaced Favre has been about as good as him.

Yet, he is the #1 pick among fans who don’t know s@*t.

Dude shut up!
Don’t piss off Ray! I didn’t vote for him and I’ve been getting threatening calls ever since! Let’s all just keep this Ray Lewis talk on the DL, dig? I don’t even wanna… oh shit… somebody’s at the door…
People have pretty much commented on all the laughable names on this list. Tomlinson actually made me laugh out loud. How dumb are the fans when Favre is #1, but Thomas Jones is 4th at running back? Crazy.
Also, it’s sad that Mathis didn’t make it on this list. I’d probably have him up there before Freeney. Hopefully the other 2/3 of the vote is done properly.
agreed on Mathis
That’s what I am hoping for—the other 2/3. He deserves it as much as Brackett did last year (but he was shut out too). Sanders shouldn’t go and he won’t (no doubt he’ll have another surgery)—we should just cryogenically suspend his life functions for six months and thaw him in August.
I don’t think Saturday merits it either—he’s one of the best, which has been proven by our performance onhis return, but when you miss 4-5 games out of 13 played so far… that’s too great a % of the total (like Sanders).
Repeat after me: MA-THIS! MA-THIS! MA-THIS!

If you think some of these votes are crazy
Check out the NFC. All the starters on the team come from the Redskins, Cowboys, or Giants. Thank goodness fans only count for 1/3rd of the vote.

crazy
QB and WR are the only spots they don’t lead. They only listed NFC East players and the list looked full.

Redskins.
Ridiculous. None of them belong there, imo. And the entire Giants O-Line deserves to go.
