"What about Chad ??"

So being overseas is not much fun ... there are plenty of negative things to get you down and make you blue.

Bad food, 12 hour guard shifts, no beer and rocket attacks, just to name a few. But for me ... perhaps the worse, most disheartening and most saddenning thing is no Colts games !!

Actually, i've got to see several games this year, and will catch Thursday night's game cause AFN plays them ... but i've missed the last 3 games ... and it's been terrible !! Following a game on yahoo or espn game center is ... well it's not good !!

Ok, sorry about the rambling ... long story short i did not see yesterday's game ... and with that i did not get to see Dallas Clark's awesome game, Rhodes TD's or anything else ... including some thing i wanted to see, like Buster Davis at LB and Chad Simpson getting some reps at RB ...

Which brings me to my question/point/query/semi-coherent thought ... how does Chad look ?? Minus the fumble it seems like he played ok.  And he did get his first NFL touchdown, so congrats to him for that. I have been a fan from the get go and Dungy seems to like him, so what's the consensus at this point ??

I remember seeing the Titans game and i thought he played very well, he picked up some tough yards and had a couple nice catches.  Seems like he could develop into a nice change of pace back back for us or also come in for receiving downs.

I guess at this poing i'm just curious what the projection is for him ... is he good enough to stick around ??

And is he good enough that next year (not factoring in the Dom situation) that we  could be ok with Addai - Simpson - Hart ?? Or at least after all the RB talk on the huge draft post, that we could at least push RB to the later rounds ??

Curious on your thoughts since i could not see him play ... thanks ...

and GO COLTS !!!

Feel you brutha

Hey dude, I’m feeling you on the being deployed and watching the Colts thing man. During the 2006 post-season superbowl run I was in Afghanistan. I’d wake up at 2-3 a.m. and unlock the combination to the B-hut with the T.V. Since it averaged -10 to -20+ degrees in there, and the heat had been turned off for a few hours, it’d be about 10-20 degrees in there. I’d be the only one in there and I could see my breath. I saw the Colts by myself in pitch black in a glorified dog house. For those of you that don’t know, a B-hut is a single board plywood framed living quarters with no insulation. I used to take sodas from the chow hall and leave them on the floor to refrigerate them. The only bad thing was is they’d freeze. I’m not sure if it was because I was watching the Colts games or having to break through a few inches of ice to pull out 60 lb concrete beams to test that caused me to get pneumonia but I did. Anyway, it was the only bright side of my deployment and it helped more than you can imagine. Stick in there man, you’ll be alright.

I didn’t get a chance to see Chad play. I really need to get the game ticket but I refuse to get satellite. I’m hoping the contract ends and cable can get it. His stats were 7 carries 17 yards with a 2 yard score so all it really did was make me upset because I had to pick up Rhodes on my fantasy team and sit Addai. But I was happy at the same time that we’re trying to get some more people involved. With Hart and Simpson maybe we can find a gem. Dungy’s been known to do that.

I’m interested if anyone else saw him live too though. How’d he move? Cutter/downhill runner? Power? Any burst? Hopefully if we get up in the Jags game and the Titans one then we can rest Addai and see if this guy can do anything. Right now I still feel shaky with Rhodes basically being the starter with Addai being so messed up. I’ve seen Simpson on a couple kick returns and he looked alright. Nothing flashy, but I don’t think he relies on flash.

I’ll be able to catch the whole Thursday night game so I’ll try to keep you updated.

I will watch the game again later today.

I always record them on my DVR. I’ll respond better then.

Well

Chad did nearly have that fumble. That could have been very costly had the Colts not recovered it.
