Dungy to Rest Players?

In the past couple years the Colts have wrapped the their playoff spot early and couldn't do any worse/better and traditionaly Dungy would rest the starters. In this game where so much is based upon timing and coordination, resting our starters have proved to be detremental to how the Colts performed in the playoffs.

With a win tonight the Colts will have wrapped up their playoff spot, #5, and can not get a better/worse spot. So do you think that Dungy will rest Manning, Freeney, and all the other important cogs that drive our team? Or maybe play spoiler and try to get Tennessee into a favorable (for the Colts) playoff matchup?

No doubt about it, Dungy probably will in some fashion. I seriously hope it’s just the guys who are a little knicked. I’d prefer they play some snaps, like Brackett. If Dungy throws Brackett out there in the first playoff game without having played any snaps before hand I’m going to be pissed.

I'd rather have a rusty Brackett

than a MLB that they pull off the field in the nickel.

It would be pretty stupid to start a guy who hasn’t played a snap since he broke his leg. Rust has nothing to do with it, I’m talking about whether or not he could even perform on a high enough level.

read this on rotoworld
Coach Tony Dungy said he will rest his players in Week 17 if the Colts win this Sunday.
Dungy will rest any player with a minor injury and most of his important starters. It means that Peyton Manning, who has thrown for 3,543 yards through 14 games, is unlikely to reach 4,000 for the ninth time. And Reggie Wayne, who has improved his yardage numbers in each of his seven NFL seasons, will see his first regression.

so… do i have to cheer for jax now?!!?

You wouldn't dare

Maybe Dungy is being strategic, and hoping Tennesse will see this and not come in hyped to win. We then play all our healthy starters and put a whoopin’ on ’em. Alright, probably not. But it sounds good.
