Pro Bowl Changes ahead

ESPN is reporting that the Pro Bowl is finally going to change.  Now, the Pro Bowl is going to be played the week BEFORE the Super Bowl - at the same site as the Super Bowl.  This is effective 2010.  What do you guys think about this?

Here's the link: ESPN

Personally, I think this could be a major coup for Indy.  When we host the Super Bowl, now we also get the Pro Bowl?  That is a guaranteed, solid two weeks of NFL Mania in our town fellas.  Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Sounds stupid. They need to scrap the pro bowl already.

Players that are going to be playing in the Superbowl are not going to participate in Probowl I assume. This better be the case or I’m going to be pretty mad if someones star player goes down in the probowl and cant play in the superbowl. that’ll be messed up.

I liked having the Probowl after the Superbowl because its like a vacation for the players when the season is officially over. Hawaii was a great place to have it. Superbowl venues are going to be only in sunny areas like tampa and miami because nobody wants a probowl in bad weather. i know i dont.

With the AFC & NFC champion members not playing in it

I guess it will have to be called the Almost-Pro Bowl? Or the I-Wasn’t-Quite-Good-Enough-But-Better-Than-Most Bowl? Perhaps they will open it up BCS style and have it sponsored by some major corporation like the Wal-Mart Bowl?

LOL!

Sponsored…I hope Goddell doesn’t read your post.

BTW, Cal looked good the other day. Congrats on the win!

Thanks on the Cal congrats

After driving home from SoCal at 6am, we took BART to the game and had an awesome time. The Miami fans (all 14 of them) were pretty gracious, but we sat 1 section over from their band, which plays something on EVERY play. My ears are still ringing.

We will terribly miss “Pain Train” (Zack Follett) and Alex Mack “Draddy” next year, but I’m psyched we will have Jahvid Best through 2009.

Just

Make it like the MLB Allstar game and whoever wins the game gets homefield in the Super Bowl. I promise you they show up like it’s a playoff game.

This idea won’t fly. The Super Bowl teams will be out and unless they make a surge like SD this year they’ll have a few players and probably starters for the Pro Bowl. And on the other hand look what’d it be like this year. “Uh, thanks for the good times Mangini, but could you please stop talking? We’ve goto get ready for our trip.”

The problem with the Pro Bowl is it doesn’t mean anything and it’s stupid to end the voting 3 weeks before the season ends. What, voting ended Tuesday night and we found out the next morning?

I’ve got it! Pro Bowl winners get home field, losers have their names put on bingo balls and put in one of those bingo spinners and whichever name’s chosen has to pick between 3 doors for their contract to be transferred. Door 1 is Al Davis and the Raiders, Door 2 is Detroit, and Door 3 is T.O. personal assistant. I’m telling you, there’d be some fire in those games.

If you would have read it all

The article says that it is going to be in 2010 and probably go back to hawaii the next year. They are just doing a trial year next year. It is not a yearly thing yet, so don’t really get too excited about it coming to indy.

I'm not

I said this “could” be a coup for Indy. We have 2012, and they said they would alternate. That would mean that Dallas would get skipped, and 2012 Pro Bowl would be here. That’s if the trial goes according to plan. Maybe it doesn’t, maybe they switch it to week after the Super Bowl. Maybe everything goes back to normal.

But if, and I mean if, it goes through as currently planned, it could really bolster the gains to the city.

I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation

I hope the change is permanent

So that in 2012 I can dress in drag and go hit on TOM BRADY
