Believe it or not, but Philip Rivers is right
"I see what people are saying, but the thing is, we’re not 8-8 anymore," San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers declared in the locker room. "We’re 0-0 now. Same as everybody else."

it is a new season
but if you didn’t have a pass defense in the regular season and you still have injuries those don’t go away. And they are riding high on their success in blowing out denver. I am glad they did as they are due for a big bounce next week especially if both gates and LT are still not 100%
An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less until they know everything about nothing...
The last time I recall a QB getting mouthy against us...
was when Leftwich and Teerlink got into a yelling match across the field. A couple plays later Ole Byron bent double to pick up his fumble, our “undersized” D bent him further, and his career in Jacksonville was essentially over. (probably did him a favor, I know….)
So now we have Rivers to jaw at our guys a bit. Can’t wait.

If Gates isn't healthy
The Chargers are screwed mightly. He’s their biggest weapon. Against the Tampa-2, you won’t see Vincent Jackson and Malcolm Floyd going over the top. They need a middle threat, and that would be Gates. I think the run defense will dominate Saturday. I don’t see them running for more than 100 yards.

Vincent Jackson was working the mid range stuff pretty well
They 6 footers in the secondary couldn’t outjump him for a high pass once he found a hole in the zone.

Talk about being bias

Like his Colts counterpart, Peyton Manning, Rivers is his team’s leader. His teammates respond to Rivers, and it’s clear they want to win for him.
Um, so the Chargers wanted to win only 8 games for Rivers this season? Also, when did he become the team leader? Leaders don’t taunt other quarterbacks while they’re playing or respond to the stupid things fans say to them. Leaders know not to insult other players and how to deal with annoying fans. I’m so sick of people only looking at his passer rating saying statistically, Rivers was the best QB in the AFC; but it didn’t translate into double digit wins for him. I know the Chargers’ defense hasn’t been that good, just like the Colts, but gosh Peyton has won so many games for this team this year that it’s ridiculous. That Jaguars game in week 16 is the prime example of Peyton taking over. Don’t get me wrong, Rivers is a very good quarterback who continues to improve every season, but until he grows up and stops acting like a jerk and can lead his team down the field for the gamewinning drive like other QBs from his draft class have already done multiple times (Big Ben and Eli), then you can put him in the elite quarterback conversation. Until then, stop talking about how great he is especially when he hasn’t proven anything.
The article is basically about not the stars of the playoff teams, but the most important players like Kerry Collins, Ed Reed, and our own Bob Sanders.
sorry

lol
I love reading people’s opinions on this and the MVP… I keep reading the same thing: “Peyton sucked for the first half of the year, that automatically disqualifies him, Rivers was good all year!”
8-8
12-4
Hm, yea, I see your point, he sure was good!
