Fantasy Football Sleepers and Busts: Week 14

Editor's Note:  Be sure to get your picks in for the Stampede Blue Prediction Contest.  You have until 1:00 ET SundayGet your picks in sooner rather than later.

Welcome to Week 14 of your Fantasy Football Sleepers and Busts.  I'll review last week before going into this week's studs and duds.

Sleepers:

  • Jeff Garcia:  119 passing, 1 TD/0 INT, 42 rush yds = 14 pts.  Garcia struggled mightily against the Saints, but still won the game.  Still not a win for me.
  • Darren McFadden:  13 yds rush, 50 yds rec = 6 pts.  I can't believe I hitched myself to such an awful franchise.  Against the Chargers, he touched the ball 2 times.  Why take a guy in the top 5, especially a RB, when you are only going to give him 2 touches a game?  Nothing surprises me anymore with the Raiders.
  • Josh Reed:  58 yards = 5 pts.  Another 0/3 on the sleepers.  Damn.

Busts:

  • Aaron Rodgers: 298 yds passing, 3 TD/1 INT, 26 rush yds, 2 PT = 31 pts.  Carolina gave up big fantasy points to a QB, which has been rare this season, yet still won the game.
  • Matt Forte: 96 yds rushing, 29 receiving, 1 TD = 17 pts. This is what I get for only taking 5 minutes to come up with this list last week.  Forte's good.
  • Randy Moss: 45 yards = 4 pts.  At least I got 1 right.  Picking against the Steelers defense is usually a safe bet.

So I was 1/6 last week, and 41/81 for the season.  Here are you fantasy nuggets for Week 14:

Sleepers:

  • Matt Cassel vs. SEA:  In a must win for the Patriots, Cassel returns to his Week 11/12 form, hammering an awful Seahawk defense (2nd worst against QB this season).
  • Tim Hightower vs. STL: Hightower had a big week the last time these two teams met up, and the Rams are bad against RB this season (worst in the league).  The Cardinals win the division with a win, and I think it's a safe bet that it will happen.
  • Laveranues Coles vs. SF:  The 49ers are bad against WR (worst in league).  I'm a little hesitant with picking a Jet here, as they seem to struggle against the bad teams this season.

Busts:

  • Tony Romo vs. PIT: I need Owens to have a big week this week, but I'm not getting my hopes up.  The only team to throw for over 200 yards on the Steelers this season (counting sack yardage):  The Indianapolis Colts.
  • DeAngelo Williams vs. TB:  Another guy who killed me last week, will struggle on Monday night against the Buccaneers (3rd best against RB).  This should be a really good game.
  • Andre Johnson vs. GB: It's gonna be cold at Lambeau, and Sage is still the starter.  The Packers are a better team than their record indicates, and they are 5th best against WR this season, and expect it to continue against the league leader in catches and yards.

Bonus pick:  Gus Frerotte vs. DET. To be honest, I'll be ok if he doesn't have a big week, but Adrian Peterson scores 7 TDs.  I'm actually going to play both Peterson and Chester Taylor this week.  They better not screw me over.
