Ron Jaworski
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this before, but i really need to get to the bottom of this...
Did one of the Colts rape Ron Jaworski? For the past 4 weeks, Jaworski has used his 5 minute segment on Pardon the Eruption to bash the Colts. When the Colts' blowed up (emmitt talk) on the Texans Jaws said, "well, its just the texans' (Hows that look now, Jaws, the Texans will finish 8-8 or 9-7...) and in the same show said of the 49ers beat down of the Rams, 'their offense is finally coming alive, its a sign of good things to come' (paraphrased).
He was again dismissive of the Colts' after they beat the Chargers and the Clowns, saying that the offense wasn't the same (while making no mention, of, you know, its NOT the same, since there's no Jeff Saturday or of a Defense that has allowed, what 29 points in the last... 3 games, and allowed less points to a browns team with Derek Anderson than the Titans allowed to said Browns team with Ken Fing Dorsey)
And then today, he was dismissive of the Colts again, pointing to the Titans beating the Colts 2 alien abductions ago. Jesus, Jaws, what did you leave out, let me count the ways? No Sanders, no Hayden (though we did have Jackson, so it might be a wash), no ANTONIO JOHNSON (DPOY), The offensive line was still in shambles, no Addai, etc...
Aside from the fact that he's fallen off the planet as far as an analyst goes, he's become a shill for the refs and nfl in general, and seems to be trying to turn himself into a cartoon to match kornheiser, i just don't understand the need to attack the same 9-4 team over and over and over and over. Talk about something else if you don't like em, I mean, they're as bad as the lions in Jaws opinion, so just ignore em till february...

I noticed it too
On PTI.
You can tell he was one of those guys that was just ready for the Colts to finally come down. I’m sure he was also one of the guys who had the Jags winning the AFC South this year..
I saw the same thing today
and I’ve been listening to the crap Jaws has been saying for the past few weeks. I was thinking today Jaws might say something positive about the Colts since both Tony and Wilbon agreed that the Colts are the better of the two teams, yet he still picks the Titans based on a MNF game where Peyton was still recovering for his TWO surgeries he had over the summer and with significant players on both the offense and defense out for that game. He had the nerve to say that the Titans have a BETTER roster than Colts! (Yes, that idiot had the audacity to say that on national televison!) Deep down, Jaws is pissed that he wasn’t even 1/10 of the quarterback that Peyton Manning is.
I agree.
It seems that with Jaws and Steve Young…there is a “Manning dislike or disdain”.
I think that Jaws is definitely jealous he wasn’t even in the same league as Petyon (and Eli, for that matter).
Young acts that way as well. Only he WAS a great quarterback. Peyton has more records and will probably break his career passer rating before all is said and done. (I think Young is safe this year :D ) I think it boils down to jealousy – or probably more appropriate – ego.
I never, EVER hear anything positive said about Peyton, or Eli, or the Colts (they are all related – these guys compliment one, they are almost complimenting the others by osmosis) by anyone except Marshall Faulk…and even then, he tries really hard to appear “unbiased” so no huge man love or anything. And he actually PLAYED with Peyton, so he knows better than anyone.
Quote by Kornheiser last night re: running TDS on Bucs: “this is historical…not in the history of all time, but in the history of this year” </em>WHAT THE *%#@??!!!!
"I throw, you catch. It's NOT that hard!"

No offense...
…but why any one of you gives a crap what some sportswriter or broadcaster says about the Colts is beyond me. Seriously, what are the Colts playing for here; a Super Bowl or respect from pundits? I couldn’t care less what Ron Jaworksi or Peter King says about the Colts. When the Colts get to the playoffs is when a team really finds out their worth. All of this jockeying for position during the regular season is just that, and anything some hack says about the Colts is of no consequence. The Colts are playing for a ring, not the respect of haters.
Ahh
You confused what I said with what the others have said…
I’m not concered about whose roster is better, whose going to win the super bowl, etc… All of that will play out on its own. I’m confused as to why Jaws has used 20% of his time on this one show the past 4 weeks to go out of his way to bash the Colts’. Trust me, I’m not on here posting every negative article or bashing every person that doesn’t just get down on one knee for the Colts. I’ve been on posting on this very website that they are flawed.
No, with Jaws it goes much deeper. He talks like he has something against them, he’s very dismissive. Seriously, just for one second WATCH him when he’s talking about the Colts, its kinda creepy.
Jaws is one of the few who has his head screwed on right
I think the problem with Jaws’s comments is that he’s one of the few sharp observers in the booth…. most football nuts like him much more than the other talking heads, and that’s why this is worthy of note. It’s like your absolute favorite professor from college starts ripping your favorite author… and keeps doing it week-in and out.
And from a shrink’s perspective, the fact that it bothers some could well be that they harbor some of the same doubts and don’t want to let them rise to the surface. Or not.
He seems to be a stand-up guy, so let’s hope he does some public crow-eating in a couple months. Medium-rare. Deep-fried. A little Tabasco. Yum.
Bobman
read what I said above. I don’t care if Jaws has doubts… I don’t care who has doubts. This is why I don’t get caught up in the hysterics of power rankings, because who cares? They don’t decide the outcome on the field. (Where as I do get caught up in sportswriters takes on MVPs, since they are, in fact, the ones that vote for the award)
It has nothing to do with his opinion and more to do with how he presents the opinion and why he presents the same opinion week after week. My point would be, they don’t have him on to trash the Lions or Bengals, two crapass teams, every week, I don’t understand the need for it in this case.
