Panthers-Bucs. No implications for the Colts, but should be a good matchup. Winner takes a 1 game lead on the NFC South (or 1.5 if the Bucs win) with only 3 games remaining. I'll be in and out since I actually have some school stuff to do.

I mean seriously

I’m trying to prep a speech for tomorrow and now I have to hitchhike to the airport, catch a fight, find the stadium and stab Kornheiser in the face, then get back and finish the speech.

on that topic

what do you all think?

Me being uncomfortable with public speaking + speech in class tomorrow morning + waterbottle full of vodka to go with breakfast and to class with me = ???

Awful idea or amazing one ? (I honestly can’t struggle worse than the last speech I had)

Act like you are having a conversation with someone in the class

And not the professor. If you pretend it is just the two of you, it goes much better.

Not something you can probably use tomorrow, but consciously think about all of the “uhs”, “ums”, “likes” in your normal speech, and it will help immensely when doing speeches.

And I’m an introverted engineer, so it isn’t the easiest thing for me either. Just takes practice.

another thing that's a big help

Quiet Strength?

I loved it. I bought a copy, read it, then lent it to a friend. While he had it, I wanted to re-read it, so I went and bought another copy. Then I mailed that to my dad, and bought another, which I gave to my pastor. Then I gave one to my local library and bought another for myself.

Great book.

(not on topic)

Any opinions on the BCS Championship pics of Fla vs Ok? I know the OK vs Texas thing is quite the sore spot. Personally, I agree with the OK vote, even though I’m an OSU grad, simply because the overall season performance I think favors the Sooners.

And what will become of Sam Bradford? Hmmmm….

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

by juperee on Dec 8, 2008 10:19 PM EST reply actions

both teams have good arguments

i lean toward UT since they beat OU on a neutral field… OU gets penalized less than UT because they lost later in the season… pretty dumb

by zkmavz on Dec 8, 2008 10:21 PM EST up reply actions

UT does have the win over the Sooners,

And that’s compelling. Too bad last week’s big 12 game couldn’t have been OU vs Texas again instead of vs Missouri. Then we’d know who deserves to advance.

Either way, the draft class for the next 1-2 yrs has some interesting options.

Speaking of draft, where does Bradford best fit? And why does he remind me of the wild aborigine kid in Road Warrior?

the face that the big 12 north sucks

and th ebig 12 south is ridic is basically the same problem the nfl has when a team with a worse record will get homefield adv over the colts… seems so simple to fix

panthers win good for the cowboys

bucs 1 game up on cboys for wildcard, but cowboys own tiebreaker over them…

by zkmavz on Dec 8, 2008 11:41 PM EST reply actions

here is why i was confused yesterday

why was everyone cheering for the steelers…. throw your hate of the cowboys out the window…

wouldnt we all rather balt win that division and pittsburgh end the season with the same or worse record than us, so if we meet them in the playoffs we canplay them in indy? wouldnt we rather go to balt in january than to pittsburgh?

plus if pitt was the 6th seed…. dont we all think they would go to mia/nyj/ne and win that game and then have a good chance of beating tenn…. which then leads to a home playoff game for us… anyway go baltimore next week

by zkmavz on Dec 8, 2008 11:44 PM EST reply actions

makes sense
