PrintInstead of predicting the Super Bowl with my head (how can the Patriots lose?), or with my heart (the Giants can win, in a perfect world), I decided to let a computer tell me the score for tomorrow.
I took team data from each of the 16 regular season games, and took a weighted average for each of 26 different categories. The model I used came from every game played this year (512 games). It is very crude now, but needed something quick and dirty.
The results:
Patriots 31
Giants 21
We'll see how it does, as the score ranges are pretty wide. This will be a good first test.
