Patriot Fan Petition

Check this out.  Apparently some Patriots fans have put together a petition to have the Commissioner review the end of the Superbowl.

http://www.petitiononline.com/XLIItrut/petition.html

I mean, honestly, how else could they have lost?  There is no possible way that they just lost fair and square.  They are the Patriots for god's sake!  I demand a recount!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Idiots...
They must have missed the fact that:
  1. The refs stopped the clock for a measurement
  2. The Giants would have used a timeout anyways
  3. The f'ing Patriots are the ones who benefited the most from the stoppage.  Had they scored a touchdown, I doubt they would demand an investigation.
Furthermore... I don't believe the clock you see on TV is the "official" game clock.

If I remember correctly
The clock on TV did stay on 1:28 while the next play occurred, which was a near interception by the Patriots.

The next play from scrimmage was at 1:16 or so.  The play took no more than 5 seconds.  I think 5-7 seconds seems about right from when they blew the play live and the snap.

I have been corrected by a Patriots fan
Here's the video, presumably made by a wronged Pats fan since the title is "Superbowl: Patriots screwed by officials on game clock".

Towards the end, it says:

There should be just 1:02 on the clock, not 1:20
The Giants scored with 35 seconds left.  Simple math tells me:

20 - 2 = 18
35 - 18 = 17

So Eli to Burress should have occurred with 17 seconds left, not 35 seconds left.

The Patriots have been robbed!!

If Anything the Giants Were Robbed
It messed with their play calling and gave the Pats more time to score.

That is the most retarded argument I've ever seen.  You would think the Patriots/their nimrod fans would WANT the extra time considering they ran out of it at the end to tie or win. owwowowowowowow

Sigh
I was afraid of this.  We lost and it sucked more than a nuclear powered Hoover, but it's time to move on.  I hate it when these idiots give you guys ammunition. ;-)

My god
Someone copy this page and frame it for posterity. It's a humble Pats fan with a sense of humor! I thought you guys were all extinct?

Huh
These "idiots" are a healthy portion of Patriots fans. This kind of crap comes as no surprise. Remember how Pats fans whined like bitches last year when their defense choked away a 21-3 lead?

Of course, MaPatsFan, I consider you the exception. ;)

Wow
Nice. They're complaining because they got a last chance to score a TD, as the clock being stopped there gave them some time at the end? I don't get it, but sure it's funny. :)

Somebody remind me
Somebody remind we why the Patriot fans are so disliked.  A petition for an investigation.  Maybe we should replay every game in the history of sports until all of the calls are perfect.

hahaha
So lemme get this straight...they are bitching because they had more time to possibly get a game tying FG. Wow, the idiocy amazes me.

I feel bad for the logical/decent Pats fans (like MaPatsfan above) who get trashed because of these other humans.

I need to see a playoff game where the Pats get beat 55-10 and the fans can find something to bitch about and how they got robbed.

Hmm
Well, let's see here. Maybe if Brady's playcalling wristband didn't read either "Chuck it deep two feet over Moss's head and hope to God he hauls it in" or "Lob a 5-yarder to Welker", they might have been in a position to go for the field goal to go into overtime.

Oh yeah, I forgot. They would have had a tie game if Belichik had kicked the field goal on 4th-and-13 and Gostkowski had made it.

Seriously, 49 yards, in perfect conditions, in the Super Bowl? If you can't trust your kicker to make that, then cut him, because he's obviously useless.

I mean honestly, what is wrong with these people? I've never seen this much complaining from a fanbase after a Super Bowl loss, and that includes Seahawks fans that legitimately got jobbed in SBXL.

Huh?
Here's what I don't understand... The Giants used their series to finish it out with a touchdown, leaving 35 seconds on the clock for the Patriots. The Patsies used 34 of those seconds to waste FOUR downs. They got an entire series of four downs, and they didn't score.  the whole point of the game being over at 00:01, was that the Pats went for it on fourth down and failed, therefore, Giants ball. Right?

So they are complaining that there was extra time?  To take 18 seconds off the clock would have just made it so that the pats wouldn't have a full set of four tries for the TD/FG. They got their last minute shot, Brady/Moss/etc failed. Captain Comeback didn't. Your team lost. Get over it. It is the ultimate of idiocy to assume that, if your team didn't win, there must have been some cheating or something under the table. Get a life.

Check it to pancakes! Pancakes!

As a Pats fan...
I couldn't let this go unanswered.

http://www.petitiononline.com/c71mac/petition.html

The giants D kicked the sh*t out of the Pats offensive line and killed Brady...we lost, plain and simple..
