ESPN the Mag Confirms: Indianapolis Colts are the best franchise in ALL of sports

Note: Promoted from the FanPosts and edited slightly by BBS.

ESPN the mag confirms... the Indianapolis Colts have the greatest franchise in the history of sports.

Well, maybe they didn't go that far. But, the Colts top this year's annual ranking of franchises based upon what they give back to the fans. All teams from the 4 "major" sports are ranked (NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB) based upon things like player effort and likability, coach leadership, and ticket prices. The only category the Colts didn't rank in the top 25 out of 122 was Stadium Experience. I think we all know that will change after this season at Lucas Oil.

One Issue

Why is the NHL considered a major sport? Until it is shown on ESPN, it’s not. The MLS is more of a major sport than the NHL.

awuhhhh?

Seriously, that’s your measure of a “major” sport? Whether it’s on ESPN or not? I guess trick pool shots are a Major sport too?

There's a good chance they'll be on top next year too

Their lowest ranking in any category was for their stadium, and you’d have to think that’s going to go up when they move into The Luke.

Cool

It’s cool to see this. But it is interesting when looking at the rankings, the Spurs beat the Colts in every category except bang for their buck. And a lot of the categories they smoked the Colts in. They must have put a ton of weight on bang for their buck in this graph.

yes...

I think they do give alot of weight to that category. If you look at the New Orleans Hornets at number 3, they’re number 1 in Bang for Buck and have some really poor rankings in other places.

NE #1s

What I don’t get is how we ranked 8 and 9 for players and coaches, respectively, but NE ranked 1 in both of those categories. Also, how did the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL?) rank 1 for championships?

Props to our team though. I think we can be #1 again next year too.
