2008 NFL Draft: Day Two Picks Open Thread

Everyone give it up for nicjohns, who was probably THE ONLY PERSON not named Bill Polian who knew the Colts would draft OC Mike Pollack at pick #59. From a FanPost a long while ago talking about the Combine results:

Mike Pollack looks fairly impressive to me his name shows up consistently on the top performers list and he is projected by some to go in the 2nd rd. I would be happy drafting this guy who could play guard and be a great replacement for Saturday in a few years. His versatility would help boost our depth at all 3 interior line positions.
So nicjohns, who are they drafting today? This is an open thread for the start of day two of the 2008 NFL Draft.

by jochexum on Apr 27, 2008 10:30 AM EDT reply actions

hopefully

avril will still be on the board. if not maybe one of the RBs

by jochexum on Apr 27, 2008 10:46 AM EDT reply actions

WR

Keenan burton out of kentucky might be a possibility as well

by jochexum on Apr 27, 2008 10:47 AM EDT reply actions

I would be

amazed if avril fell that far

by coltsfan21 on Apr 27, 2008 10:48 AM EDT reply actions

I can't believe were going to get Shada

in the third. This is going to be the steal of the draft.

Mind filling me in on

who shada is? ive herd his name pop up but im not sure about what position he plays or his skills

by metal_militia on Apr 27, 2008 11:00 AM EDT reply actions

I think

that this shada guy is a joke

by coltsfan21 on Apr 27, 2008 11:03 AM EDT reply actions

He's a CB from Iowa

He’s the first guy that came to mind when thinking of a guy in this draft that I didn’t like and shouldn’t get drafted. He’s a big CB, but slow and can’t cover or keep his hands of the WRs.

Shada

Honestly, I’m kind of sick of the slow, white corner from Iowa joke.

If the 3rd round keeps falling correctly

I look for the colts to go with Cliff Avril great situational pass rusher until he adds some bulk and skill and then could play every down later on, this could be the reason why we don’t pick him as well because he wouldn’t be able to give freeney and mathis some running downs off. No matter what I see us going with a pass rusher or a db this 3rd round, no way we go OL 2 rds in a row.

by nicjohns on Apr 27, 2008 11:11 AM EDT reply actions

That would make it like

OL 3 rounds in a row since Ugoh is basically their 1st rounder

manningham is

number 11 on mels board.

still like manning to manningham lol.

by skywalker on Apr 27, 2008 11:15 AM EDT reply actions

if we go wr

I’d much rather it be Keenan Burton out of Kentucky. http://www.newerascouting.com/profiler/viewprofile.php?id=133

Looks a lot more like a WR the colts would target, except for injury concerns.

Avril is still our best choice I believe

by jochexum on Apr 27, 2008 11:16 AM EDT up reply actions

right now

ill go avril or howard when our pick is on

Of course

Marcus Howard fits us.

He is fast and undersized for a DE like all of our players

Marcus Howard it is. I wanted to see a DT, but it never hurts to have another speedy pass rusher.
