The All-Rookies-I-Like Team

I've had a lot of fun researching the draft and building the Colts roster, so I'm combining those into all rookie team. These are all rookies that are not top 20 picks (since nearly everyone loves those guys) and I wish the Colts could have.

The Starting Line-up  the number beside the name is their value on the NFL Draft Value Chart

QB-Brian Brohm  340

TB/WR-Chris Johnson 720

RB/FB-Matt Forte  460

Goalline FB-Jacob Hester*

TE-Brad Cottam  210

WR-Earl Bennet  240

WR-Andre Caldwell  112

Slot-Jacob Tamme*

LT-Chad Rinehart  116

LG-Mike Pollak  310

C-Kory Lichtensteiger  86

RG-Jeremey Zuttah  175

RT-John Greco  265

LE-Quinton Groves  380

NT-Trevor Laws  430

UT-Jason Jones  360

RE-Cliff Avril  132

Rush End-Marcus Howard*

WLB-Geno Hayes  21.4

MLB-Xavier Adibi  58

SLB-Phillip Wheeler 128

CB-Antonie Cason 680

CB-Brandon Flowers 550

NB-Jack Williams

*=Situational guy

According to the standard NFL pick value chart, for the cost of Jake Long and a mid-5th round pick a team could have the entire starting O (starting 11 without the situational players.

Instead of Chris Long and Jordan Dizon (pick #45 OLB) A team could trade back and draft the entire starting defense of my all-rookies-I-like team.

Some comments/info on the players (offense is done), the backups and whether you can get all these players for the trade chart value a single top pick is in progress.

The stuff that's done is here . I'll add it to this post when I'm totally finished.

SLB-Phillip Wheeler

Is he really that good, or is it more on the homer side?

Not the best rookies necessarily

But the ones that fit with the Colts and that I like. Wheeler’s good. He was the ninth LB taken overall, before Adibi and Hayes.

Added the draft chart value and compared to the Longs

Which would you rather have if you were a bad team, a Long and change or an entire starting unit of very good rookies?

Rookies

I’d take the starting unit of very good rookies. You’ll have a young team that will grow together.
