Dungy says Manning to be back with three weeks left in preseason
Perhaps Peyton Manning will back earlier than initially believed. Appearing on the "Waddle & Silvy" show on ESPN radio in Chicago Friday morning, Colts coach Tony Dungy said that he expects Manning to be back on the field with three weeks left to go in the preseason.

Marvin Harrison Update
Within that same show, Dungy also emplied that Harrison is doing great and SHOULD be ready to go when training camp opens. I believe this is good news coming from Dungy when nobody really didn’t know what was going on with Marvin. Dungy goes further on to emphasize that the Colts were told many times by Philly police that Marvin is not a suspect, however, Dungy doesn’t know where the investigation is at during this point. I believe Harrison is out to prove everyone wrong this year, so look for him to have a very productive season.

My Take
I was really surprised to here this about Marvin. Of course, the Colts were the ones who said he would play in the Tennessee Titans game in Week 17, so you never know. However, most people, like me, did think that Marvin would miss all of training camp and the preseason. Marvin needs training camp and the preseason to get back into playing form. This is great news.
If Peyton and Marvin can get even one preseason game in, it should be enough to blow by the Bears in Week 1 and be able to take care of the Vikings and Jags before the bye week. Dungy makes all of the "experts" who said that Peyton could miss the first week look like the idiots they are.
They didn’t understand that 8 (the weeks left until the season starts) minus 6 (the maximum number of weeks Peyton would miss) equals 2, which is a positive number. That means that he would not miss the first game. Morons.
This coupled with the news that Freeney will definitely be 100% by Week 1, and the injury problems that were looming are all but gone. Since the injuries are the only thing that the "experts" have said as a negative for the Colts, I think this report should make us the favorites in the AFC. Of course Mike Florio and some of the idiots at ESPN will manipulate Dungy’s comments to make it seem like he said Peyton lost his left leg and Marvin was guilty of the shooting. Ah well. They can be surprised when the season comes.

Great to hear that Marvin has been running pain free and smiling and having fun. He looked miserable last year in the playoff loss.
I have no doubts Manning will be 100% fine.

I think Dungy might mean Peyton will be back to practice. (which is great) But, I am not sure if he will go in the preseason games. (not like he does much in PS games anyway)

funny how from jags fans peytons injury was being reported as a was a huge deal and the colts fans treating this like this isnt as severe as what it really is…now look what team just was denying their big FA team changing accusation and his injury…
I find the whole thing quite hypocrital. from catcountrys written piece of denial to it being not a big thing. yet last week on their site a picture of peyton manning and how THIS WAS a huge ordeal and we were downplaying it
seems the shoe is on the other foot now
it also proves what I said. be careful what you report because in the preseason your team can go from contender to pretender in a matter of days with other teams injuries reports

I agree
The Jags blog makes anything that happens to one of our players used as an excuse for our downfall. However with their new big WR FA signing it’s no big deal and only focuses on the positive lol. Imagine that.
Manning had a simple procedure done. I wish Porter a speed recovery as well, but hamstring surgery to a WR (especially one to a new team that needs to learn the system) is pretty serious IMO.
Then again I do not gloat when players of opposing teams get hurt like some do. ;)
