5 teams (including Colts) have zero drafted players signed

The Colts, Browns, Cowboys, Packers, and Vikings have the dubious honor of not having one single drafted rookie signed with training camps opening mere days from now. Now, obviously, this is not a sign of laziness, nor does this necessarily mean there teams' rookies will hold out from camp.

But COME ON!

Sign at least the 6th and 7th round picks? What the hell are they holding out for? They're lucky they got drafted at all. I also realize that there are some issues with the (lack of) collective bargaining agreement in two years, but 27 other teams had no problem signing at least one pick despite that potential issue.

These teams better get on the ball and get these damn rookies signed, the Colts espeically.

I wonder if the "Special Master" ruling is the reason.

Perhaps the Colts and Co. wanted to wait out the CBA ruling about 6th year guaranteed money. Not that it would effect late round guys, but it’s something that could cause teams to slow down on the signings.

Usually teams try to do a “one a day” thing, just because it makes the Agents happy (dedicated news cycle, at least for the day), though obviously that’s more important for first, second and maybe third round picks.

I highly doubt that any of your late picks, like the 17 sixth round players are “holding out”, the lack of signings of anyone seems to indicate that it’s a front office thing. Not that it’s a bad thing, if anyone’s front office can get away with not getting a single guy inked up until the last possible moment, it’s Indy.

17 sixth rounders

That was funny, RCR. Actually made me grin after a busy and stressful day.

Everyone is going to sign. Real soon. Vintage Colts front office.

One Thing All Of Those Teams Have In Common

They all will be competing for a division title and a Super Bowl birth. I’m not worried at all. I doubt Pollak or Wheeler have the ego to hold out.
