FYI: Interesting info about our young drafted/undrafted players
I was trying to get some info on some of young players and how they did within the NFL combine way back when, and found it interesting on how they compared to some of the elite players in the draft. For example, I was looking at the top speeds within the 40 yard dash and found a few of our late round and undrafted players in the top 10 within their respective position.
- Defensive Line: Marcus Howard (1st), Curtis Johnson (5th)
- Tight End: Jacob Tamme (2nd)
- Running Backs: Chad Simpson (5th) - ahead of a slew of 1st and 2nd round picks
- Wide Receivers: Pierre Garcon (10th)
I know there is a lot more to a player besides speed, but I would not have known that Chad Simpson was up there in his 40 time and ahead of many elite running backs. I think it also impressive that we attained two of the top fastest defensive line players in the draft with Marcus Howard and Curtis Johnson.
