First Games
I just received my tickets for the Colts@Titans game on monday night football. This is my first football game period. I love football but never really had a chance to actually go to a game. Anyway, I wanted to take a page out of BlueVol03's and ask everyone to reminisce(sp.?) on their first NFL game if they have attended one.
Also, how are the Titan fans? Its gonna be me and my girlfriend in matching Manning jerseys and i just want to see how we are going to be treated

My first game
First game I saw in person was in 1992 (I believe): Indianapolis Colts v. the then-Phoenix Cardinals. The Dome was about half full, as the Colts were not going to make the playoffs and were in the midst of a conflict with their star QB: Jeff George. Old Jeff had received a lot of criticism the week leading up to the game, and responding in his normal Jeff George way.
He blamed others.
However, when gametime happened, Jeff George did not disappoint this time around. George threw for over 300 yards and 3 TDs, torching Joe Bugel’s pathetic Cardinal defense. I remember the game clearly because a Colts fan standing in front of us starting screaming, at the top of his lungs, SUCK MY D&K, PHOENIX! Suck my d&k!
Truly, a memorable game. Colts romped the Cards. Jeff George flaunted the game as validation of his abilities. We were all treated to fool’s gold. Jeff was gone a year later. Still, the game was fun and the experience enjoyable.

Haven't made an NFL game
Nearest stadium is 320 miles away. It’s on my to-do list.
The first football game I ever went to was as a 6 year old. I watched my future high school’s team, led by future NFL WR Tim Dwight, put the 50 point mercy rule on the school my dad taught at.

First I Can Remember
I know I went to other games when I was much younger, but the first I have memory of extensive memory of is the 1997 Monday Night game against the Buffalo Bills. Thankfully that wasn’t my last since the game was extremely boring.
Not a single touchdown was scored and the Bills ended up winning 9-6. If not for the drunk guy dressed as Fred Flinstone seated one row in front, my junior high self probably would not have enjoyed the game much.

My first game
was at in LA watching the Faiders and the Broncos in 85 or 86. Not a huge fan of either team, but in hindsight, I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to see Elway live. The other thing that makes me laugh to this day is the Raider fans rushing the field to kill Mark Wilson after he kept throwing interceptions and fumbling at center. Scary, man.
I live just north of San Diego, so the game this year is on my list. Hoping to get tickets next week….THAT, my friends is a huge dream of mine. To see Peyton and the boys live.

First
I think my first game was vs. the Broncos in the playoffs of..’04? Yeah the one where we stomped the shit ouf of them.
It was hilarious watching all the drunk people by the half, celebrating the win already.
Here’s hoping we’ll have another one like it this year!

Mine was a MNF game
not long before the Dungy era. Peyton and company beat the Bills and strung together a few necessary wins afterward to sneak into the playoffs.
My favorite game I attended was in ‘05, when we played the Rams on MNF (because of my profession I can only attend Monday night games). The Rams were up 17-0 in the first quarter, and the Rams fans sitting nearby were being obnoxious. My wife and I were miserable, having paid to come watch the Colts get whipped and then have our noses rubbed in it.
Then, the Colts came back in typical fashion, and we were able to see Manning and Harrison break the Young and Rice tandem touchdown record that night. Number 86. Manning and Harrison fought to give the other the ball at first, and all the Rams fans grew quiet and depressed as the Colts went 6-0, on their way to 13-0 before it all went south. That was a fun game.

My First Game
was the first Brady-Manning game. The Colts lost, but that was under Mora. I also went to the “Playoffs?” game and had club seats, the best seats I’ve had at Colts games.
I go to about one Colts game a year, but hopefully I’ll be able to make multiple games at the Lube.

My first game wasn't a Colts game.
In October, 1970, when I was 11, I saw the Bears play the Chargers at Wrigley Field. It was a beautiful late fall day, cool but clear. I sat in what would be the rightfield bleachers for baseball next to a rather large guy with a pristine Chicago accent, which to my adolescent mind instantly marked him as a mobster. One time he stood to cheer and waive his arms. He had a pistol tucked in his belt. To this day, when I think back, I feel like I sat next to Al Capone himself.
The Bears sucked then, and the Chargers won 21-7, if my memory is correct. After all this time, it might not be.
The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in the stars, but in ourselves.

First Game
My first game was in 1990, Colts against the New York Jets. It must have been in the middle of November because my dad got tickets for his birthday (Oct. 31st). I was only 7 years old and not much of a football fan, but he only got two tickets and I was hoping he would take me instead of my uncle, but being the badass dad that he is he saw my young desire to go. Now my dad is a big Colts fan, but I have always considered him more of a baseball fan because he is a diehard Red’s fan. So growing up young I was more into baseball and basketball than football because it was just too complicated to understand. I remember walking into the Hoosier Dome and just being in awe of everything. The only time I got up was at half time to pee. And like many of the posts on here, some drunk-ass dick was sitting in front of me, berating his son for whatever reason. But that aside it was one of the best memories from my youth. the game itself was a lot of fun because the colts came from behind and won 17-15. If i remember correctly the Jets got two safeties against the Colts. Even though I live in Indy, I dont get to go to many games, but everytime I walk in the stadium and look at the field I always get chills like I did when I was seven.

My first NFL game
was in New Orleans to see the Saints against the then Los Angeles Rams. I believe it was in 93 and Bettis put on quite a show rushing for over 200 yds. I’ve been to quite a few Saints games over the years but never a Colts game.

Titans fans
I live in Nashville and have attended several Titans games.
The one that stands out the most in terms of my dealings with the opposing fans is the Raiders game from the 2005 season. Raiders fans, of course, have a certain reputation around the NFL, and the Raiders won that game. The Raiders fans I talked to said that Nashville was one of the most welcoming cities they had ever been to for a game, and they had a great time.
Also, keep in mind that Peyton did play college ball for the University of Tennessee, and many Titans fans are also UT fans and therefore still have a soft spot in their hearts for him. I don’t, but that’s okay. Peyton’s jersey is probably the safest Colts jersey you could choose to wear to the game.
We’ll give you and your girlfriend a little bit of trash talk for being fans of the opponent, but all in all, Nashville is a city that loves its visitors, and you should have a really good time.

My experience when visiting Tennessee
is that there are a surprising number of Colts fans around. I have always figured it was a shared love for the same giant forehead. All in all, it is a nice and friendly state. We visit the Smokies every spring break as a family. I was born in Millington, when my dad was stationed there in the Navy.

Love that forehead!
That’s exactly what it is, a shared love of Manning. There are people who actually say they are Titans fans “unless they are playing the Colts.” I don’t consider those people fans, and I look down on them, heap scorn upon them, and wish them ill.
Maybe it’s because I’m a Vandy fan and a Lousiville fan, and most certainly NOT a UT Vols fan.

Colts vs Bengals
MNF, December 18, 2006. I rode to the game with a friend of mine from work (season ticket holder since 1995). I sat in section 312 row 7. It was an awesome game, except for the drunk Colts fans three or four rows up from me who were cursing at the Bengals fans sitting in front of me (a middle aged man and wife, and their 13 yr old-ish son). Very un-classy. But the game was great. I drove home and put my name on the season ticket waiting list that night.

10/7/84
Redskins at Colts. Redskins coming off of 2 SB appearances in 2 years (beating Miami in ‘82). Colts… not so good. This was the Colts team with Mike Pagel and Art Schlichter at QB, and Randy McMillan and Curtis Dickey at RB. Logic would dictate that the Colts suited up some WRs during that season, but my suspicion is that they were just civilians in some sort of witness protection program. Our best player was probably Rohn Stark—he certainly got plenty of practice.
As you might expect, the Colts were defeated fairly handily by a score of 35-7. My clearest memory from that unmemorable game was this: early in the game the Colts went for it on 4th and inches from their own 9 (or so). They ran a right-to-left sweep that caught the Redskins completely off-guard and went for a 91-yd TD… only to be called back due to a holding penalty on the right side of the line (completely away from the action). The Colts then punted. I was really excited for a minute, and then reality set in—pretty much a microcosm of the season.
