Holy Crap! THE COLTS WON A PRE-SEASON GAME!

Colts win a meaningless game against the Falcons 16-9. For the third straight game, Jim Sorgi has failed to get the Colts in the endzone. Michael Turner continues to haunt this club, Brannon Condren snatched 2 INTs, and Kelvin Haydeon did his best Super Bowl 41 impression. Also impressive were rookie DE Curtis Johnson, Colin (not the crap actor) Ferrel, and TE Jacob Tamme. Adam Vinatieri continues to boom kicks out the back of the endzone, and Marcus Howard got another sack.

Continue chatting. Full recap tomorrow.

Am I the only one that’s glad that Michael Turner is on the Falcons? I mean, best case scenario, the Colts face him once every four years. Worst case scenario, Matty Ice turns out to be the second coming of Tom Brady and the Colts become the Buffalo Bills to his Dallas Cowboys.

Although personally, I’m not sure how much good either of them will do for such an awful franchise.

Ain't happening

Wrong AFC East QB, MonkeyBusiness. Ryan is more likely the second coming of Chad Pennington.

The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in the stars, but in ourselves.

Pennington?

Pennington was/is very accurate and made few mistakes (picks). Before two shoulder injuries/surgeries knocked his arm strength down from poor to comical he had an amazing 2002. 68.9% completion, 22 TDs to 6 picks, 3120 yards, 7.7 yards per attempt.

Ryan’s big weakness was one of Pennington’s best features, bad decisions.

I’m not a Matt Ryan fan at all (he got hyped up a ton for making late comebacks when he had done a lot to dig the hole himself with all the INTs) but I don’t get the comparison.

How Michael Turner stole my Christmas.

For some reason, I thought Turner had burned us a lot in his career. It turns out he has only had carries in one game against us(8 carries for 113 yards). Most of that was an 83 yard run for a TD that put the game out of reach late in the 4th.

That was back in 2005, the Colts were 13-0 going into that game. I remember because I bought tickets for the next game here in Seattle on Dec. 24th. My brother flew out here and we were going to get to see a bit of history in the making, or so we thought. Since the Colts clinched and didn’t have the perfect record to play for, Manning played for exactly 1 series. After the game, the Seahawk fans acted like they won the Super Bowl. They did clinch a playoff berth, so I could see being happy, but it was almost over the top and not a single one of them offered to buy us a beer for the gift our team presented them.

I hope he gets hemmroids or a nasty toe fungus, the big grinch. :)

Christmas Presents

Seems like the Colts have been giving out Christmans Presents to teams these past few years (Titans last year and Seatle in 05) by sitting our first string players
