Would 40% be an improvement or just plain consistent?

actually a step back

he was at 57% last year. Acceptable for a WR, but RBs are usually around 80% since they mostly catch dumpoffs

Another question

Do these numbers include only drops or are they also subject to bad throws and the like. I would love to see the numbers on how many passes were actually dropped by receivers, taking out those deflected by coverage, off the mark, etc.

a target is any pass where the scorer marks that player is the intended WR

If it’s close enough that the scorer can tell who it’s being thrown to, it’s a target. So these are definitely subject to the quality of QBs. Though since none of the QBs are really separating themselves I wouldn’t worry too much about who is getting passes from who. I would understand that these guys would be getting better passes thrown to them if they were playing with Peyton.

From that list...

Here’s who are 6 WR’s should be:

Harrison
Wayne
Gonzo
Hall
Garcon
Jones

If we want to keep 6 WR’s that is. I think the Colts want 4-6 to contribute on special teams though, and I’m not sure Jones can do that. Roby and Aroma can, so it will probably come down between those three. The talent level of 1-5 is pretty good though, so they may even consider just carrying 5 to start the season. Who knows.

Clark's catch % matches his number

I hope I never see that again.
