Open Thread: FFL Draft

I just drafted Peyton Manning. I. Am. God.

My final FFL roster:

QB: Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers

RB: Frank Gore, Michael Turner, Chris Johnson, Brandon Jackson, Pierre Thomas, Kenny Watson

WR: Roy Williams, Hines Ward, Donald Driver, Jerry Porter

TE: John Carlson

K: Phil Dawson

D: Minnesota Vikings

We had two folks have PC issues during the draft, and for that I'm sorry. The auto-draft was pretty good though. Small FYI: I do believe Vince Young went undrafted.

I have vista on my laptop, which I used for the draft, and had no problems. Vista = Pimp. If you disagree you are wrong.

Do You Have...

Multiple browsers?? If using IE, try FireFox…That fixed it in a draft I was in…

After a quick survey of the teams

my money is on Mgrex30
Lynch, Jacobs, McFadden, Wayne, Lieutenant Winslow.

Just for kicks, here's my team so everyone can see it:

Starters:
QB – Matt Hasselbeck
RB – Steven Jackson, Reggie Bush
WR – Braylon Edwards, Torry Holt, Greg Jennings
TE – Kevin Boss
K – Jeff Reed
D/ST – Packers

Bench:
QB – Kurt Warner
RB – Selvin Young, Ricky Williams
WR – Joey Galloway, Javon Walker
D/ST – Eagles

For the record, I think most of the teams are pretty evenly matched.

yeah

even the team I liked above doesn’t have any depth that I like and could be in trouble at QB

Yeah, MexicanBlue’s team is probably the best, but his QB play is going to kill him (I hope).

Eh, I take that back, I’ll stick with my original statement. They are all pretty even looking.

When I glanced over the teams, I noticed MexicanBlue’s team as being the most potent. Besides QB, he has very good depth with good players all around.

Thanks

I tend to wait too much for a QB (happens every year, every league), but in a league this size, you can get a serviceable QB from the WW (specially with only 15 roster spots), I believe in our division and I think Schaub will have a solid year (except the weeks he faces the Colts).

I'm happy

with what I’ve got.

Brees, Cutler
Portis, James, Mendenhall, Green
Burress, Coles, Rice, Meacham
Witten, McMichael
Crosby
Bears, Steelers

Too many TEs

Forgot the comp picked Tony G for me and took back to back TEs and I have Schaub as QB1 (waited way too much), other than that I like my chances:

Starters
M. Schaub QB
L. Tomlinson RB
L. Johnson RB
T. Houshmandzadeh WR
A. Boldin WR
S. Holmes WR
T. Gonzalez TE
N. Rackers K
Ravens TM BAL

Bench
T. Edwards QB
C. Taylor RB
D. Sproles RB
J. Cotchery WR
O. Daniels TE
T. Scheffler TE

yea I noticed that also, but overall it was a good draft for you. Holmes could have a breakout year and L. Johnson could make your team standout if he goes back to his old ways.

Depth

I noticed that as you cant get much depth, I wanted to secure players I like this season, Cotchery may end up being a WR2 with Favre at the helm, the TE mistake is not that bad in a league this size.

by oscarx21 on Aug 27, 2008 1:12 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Here's my team

QB – J. Kitna, P. Rivers
RB – A. Peterson, K. Smith, R. Johnson, L. Washington
WR – L. Fitzgerald, M. Colston, W. Welker, J. Gaffney, V. Jackson
TE – D. Clark, G. Olsen
K – J. Kasay
Defense – Colts

Besides A. Peterson, my rb and qb positions is very questionable. I’m loaded at my WR position and I’m representing a few Colts so im happy with that.. Good luck to everyone.

Overall

I really liked the draft, for a free league just a few missing players, I can say the level was better than what I expected, cant wait for the season.
